Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

Perhaps your question needs to be refined (pun intended) a bit. Most synthetics on the shelf today are formulated using Group III+ base stocks which are simply very highly refined crude (e.g. dino) oil. Their performance is nearly as good as Group IV (PAO) base stocks. So go back and ask...

L2501H Shuts off when I stand up off seat ? Safety Switch ?

What is the logic used to detect a tied down switch? When does it have to cycle to satisfy the sanity test? I can start my L3901 from cold standing on the ground with the switch open. Lets assume the first cycle of the switch from open to operator present simply arms the ECM shutdown logic. So...

L2501H Shuts off when I stand up off seat ? Safety Switch ?

Thats just an ON-OFF-ON toggle switch. The center position corresponds to operator out of seat but seat not tilted forward. Have you tried tilting the seat forward to see if that has any effect? Might yield a clue as to where to go next in the logic table. Edit: if you are so inclined it looks...

Wheel spacers for BX (older and newer models)

Every civilized person owns an angle grinder 😉 My roughly 20 year old HF angle grinder gets a lot of use/abuse and is still going strong. Paid a lot more for the Makita..... Dan .

    Antifreeze

Kubota specifies extended life ethylene glycol antifreeze for use in their engines. That leaves out conventional green (IAT formulation) antifreeze. IAT is old technology and is relatively hard to find but still sold under house brand names like Autozone and Orielly. Just about any brand of...

    Steering box bearing race removal

Use the welder to run a cold bead around the face on the race and you won't need the puller part. The weld will shrink the OD of race as it cools and it will fall out. The bead does not need to be pretty or particularly deep. I use that technique on a regular basis and it works like a charm. Dan

First & Hopefully Last Tractor - Advice needed on tractor and implements.

The financing on the 3901 is hard to beat but its a smaller tractor. I went with the 3901 but I don't have nearly as much acreage to manage. If i did I would be thinking bigger. Whatever you get fill the tires and widen the rears. If you get R1s you won't need wheel spacers and you can add...

    Third function moving s-l-o-w!

Looks like the joystick controls a remotely mounted 2 spool valve. I would be interested in seeing a picture or two of the valve itself and how it is mounted. Joystick resembles the pictures on the Fit Rite site. Edit: on second look I only see one cable so maybe just a lever and single...

L2501H Shuts off when I stand up off seat ? Safety Switch ?

FWIW I had an issue @10 hours where the engine shut off as soon as I moved the HST pedal. After the initial panic I remembered I had been working under the seat. Flipped it up and found I had left a wrench there. Just enough obstruction to raise the seat enough to trigger that interlock. Might...

L2501H Shuts off when I stand up off seat ? Safety Switch ?

If the same as the L3901 there are two switches - the HST pedal position and the PTO engaged switch. You should be able to leave the seat as long as the HST is in neutral and the PTO is disengaged. Dan

    Third function moving s-l-o-w!

Not likely a solenoid of any type if he uses a "second lever" to operate the grapple. I think its time for a few pictures of the third function valve and controls. Dan

    Third function moving s-l-o-w!

What sort of third function is it? The most common one is a second solenoid operated valve which is independent of the loader valve. Do you have a diverter system that lets you use the bucket control for the grapple? Dan

ZD1211 zero turn mower deck pulley mystery

    Any Gravel Spreading Tips?

Dont over think it. With that equipment three tandem loads can be bucketed in not much more than an hour. Load, transport to furthest point and roughly spread as you approach the dump point. Back drag with bucket to spread, level, and smooth. Repeat working back towards the pile until done. I...

Front hydro pump to rear pto pump advise

I am not familiar with that equipment but have put crankshaft driven front pumps on many tractors. I would think the plumbing on the L295 system should be GI proof. Usually just a standalone reservoir, pump, and vanilla open center DCV with pump and reservoir lines. Is the L295 more elaborate...

Front hydro pump to rear pto pump advise

How big is that front pump? Loaders don't require much in the way of flow and 10 GPM or less would be typical for a small loader. HP requirement for that is minimal. A crude rule of thumb is 1 HP for every 1 GPM of flow @ 1500 PSI. You have a 30HP diesel so unless you have a massive pump on...
