    Hydraulics

Specifics are good. Pictures are even better. What are the two control valves in question? Dave provided a very clear diagram of how an implement (loader) valve fits into the main lift circuit. Apparrently your system worked fine until you serviced it so the operation of the valves themselves...

    MTL RG-7 Grapple

I am ready to pull the trigger on a grapple for my new L3901 and I like almost everything about the 60" RG-7 from MTL a lot. My only concern and it is not great is the weight. At 520# that is about twice the weight of the 66" bucket and eating into the payload a bit. I have the loader manual...

    Hydraulics

Yikes!!! I thought all of the tractors had a system relief in that outlet block. That is a very good design if you are in the replacement pump business. Just so happens I accidentally purchased a replacement pump for that tractor that I don't need and will sell very cheaply  Dan

    Hydraulics

The line going to the "riser" should be coming from the loader valve not the outlet block so that in itself sounds wrong. Check all three loader hoses to make sure they are properly routed: Pump pressure OUT from hydraulic block to pressure in (P port) on loader valve Pump pressure OUT from...

    Hydraulics

Nothing special required. There will be a little air in the lines anytime you break and remake a hydraulic circuit. On open center systems like these just cycle the loader cylinders a couple times to purge the lines and you are good to go. Dan

    bf300A hydraulics drain

By hang I meant mount it on the tractor. Purging the lines and cylinders is the final step of installation.

    Hydraulics

Probably easier and cheaper to make new hard lines. If they are like the ones on my B7200/B1600 loader you can make replacements using JIC tees in place of the brazed/welded tees used on the originals. You will need a JIC flaring tool, tubing cutter and bender, and a stick, maybe two, of 3/8"...

    bf300A hydraulics drain

Drain as much oil as you can from the loader supply and PB lines then hang the loader but do not connect the tank return line to the transmission - put it in an empty bucket. Now start the tractor and cycle all of the cylinders a full stroke in both directions. Top up hydraulic fluid and repeat...

    Hyd Hose

That hose would cost me about $15 to make: FJX90-06-08 hose end: $8 FJX-06-08 hose end: $4 12" R16 hose : $3 Carquest probably gets better prices than I do so you paid about $50 for 10 to 15 minutes labor. Of course the hose crimper cost them $3K+ and they pay rent on the store.... Dan

    Wheel spacers and broken axles?

I am talking about Kubota wheel weights. They are bolted to the center disc and supported by the tire and wheel but they are also over hanging from the hub. That is different than liquid ballast which is filling the tires and is not overhanging.. This bolt on style wheel weight presents a...

    Wheel spacers and broken axles?

Widening the wheelbase by reversing wheels or adding spacers adds stress. Pulling a mower adds stress. Plowing a field adds stress. Putting a loader on the tractor adds stress. Just about everything you do with or to a tractor adds stress. If your son breaks an axle you will never know if it...

    Wheel spacers and broken axles?

Wheel weights will increase the mass (=momentum) acting through that lever arm. It is also an off center mass acting as an overhanging load on the hub. I am pretty sure a properly modeled FEA will show you it adds static stress when the tractor is at rest and dynamic stress to the system when...

    Wheel spacers and broken axles?

Lots of variables to consider in a failure like this. Anecdotal failures are not particularly useful. You need to control testing and eliminate those variables before assigning a cause to failures. For example I have a B7200DT. In the 30 odd years I have owned it I have broken both axles. I...

    BX2200 BXpanded pressure tester issue

I guess we have a difference of opinion and experience. A small displacement (< 2 CID) mobile equipment gear pump is typically rated for 3000+ PSI continuous duty. It will run all day at that pressure and for short periods of time at pressures around 3500 PSI with no problem. You are not going...

    L245DT Hydraulics

The Morse catalog says the Morflex elastomer operating temperature range is 0F to 200F. That is probably conservative. There are tens of thousands of them in use and many in very frigid climates. Unless you are planning an Antarctica expedition I would not worry in that regard. Dan

    BX2200 BXpanded pressure tester issue

You should have no problem running the pump against the relief valve. That is exactly what happens when you "curl" the bucket and hold it. I would not reccomend running it that way for extended times but a couple minutes is exactly what the relief system is designed to to accommodate. Dan

    Retrofitted B2410 FEL Control Valve

This is not rocket science. There are lots of potential replacement valves and many for less than $450. Here ia a Brand valve with float and bucket regen I purchased years ago for half that. It is going on my B7200 and will bolt right on to the OEM bracket. Just about any joystick valve with...

    BH77 hydraulic lines

I agree with your friend and as i said earlier use hoses with swivel ends whenever possible and adapters to match threads if needed. Regardless of thread type rigid ends on hydraulic hoses are a PITA to connect and disconnect. The times when they are absolutely necessary are few and far...

    BH77 hydraulic lines

That is correct. Here are two standard 3/8" hose ends. as an example. One has a -08 JIC swivel nut end and the other is a -06 swivel. nut, As you can see in the first picture the -08 nut is larger, The second picture shows the stem end that goes inside the hose, Both stems are the same OD and...
