Adding rear hydraulic hookup to L3940

Its an opinion. Hoses to the rear are ugly and cumbersome and the valve is designed for loader operations not rear implements. Put a set of rear remotes on it and Its an improvement not a kludge. Just my $.02 Dan

Adding rear hydraulic hookup to L3940

I dont see any levers for factory rear remotes and those kits are probably NLA. Adding a commodity valve for rear remotes is straightforward and not particularly expensive. You could use the loader ports for a rear attachment but I think you will find it is a PITA Dan

Adding front end loader to L3000DT

I answered that question early on. Edit- Oops - that was in a PM. The short answer is you simply connect the loader using the hydraulic outlet block. The details of that vary with the model of tractor. Dan

    PTO pump

Again, when you hit a knot pressure goes up but ram speed = flow rate goes down and you are still below max HP rating of the pump. Put a gauge on your splitter and see how pressure varies across a cycle. You are never going to see max pressure and max flow at the same time. If flow/speed is...

    Hydraulic/Electric toplink for B2650 (w/o rear remotes)?

Careful - my ego is oversize already :giggle: You got it figured out. I would just caution that raising the 3pt lever with the backhoe connected can damage the backhoe valve. There is no weight on the lift arms but when the lift gets to the top pressure can still max out at the end of its...

    Hydraulic/Electric toplink for B2650 (w/o rear remotes)?

That is 99% correct. But.... You cant treat the valve for the remotes the same as the valve on the backhoe. Why is that? Its because Kubota is cheating with their backhoe hookup. The backhoe return line is actually connected to the inlet on the 3pt valve. When the backhoe is hooked up the...

    PTO pump

PTO shaft extensions are readily available but you need to find a way to support the pump. Dan

    PTO pump

Yes - HP ratings are typically based on continuous operation at max pressure and flow. In a log splitter application 90+ percent of operation is at a few hundred PSI with very brief spikes in pressure at reduced flow. Dan

    PTO pump

I have a B7200 so I an familiar with the problems. Those slip on PTO pumps require a lot of clearance around the PTO shaft. I dont think that pump would mount on my B7200 or the L3901 without sone sort of extension and/or removal of the PTO shroud. Dan

    PTO pump

A lot depends on the splitter and the usage. You might be surprised what a regen valve will do to improve that anemic flow. Dan

    Factory MX rear remote issues.

Do I understand correctly - the float detent on the one valve does not hold? If so it could be as simple as an adjustment problem with the linkage. Perhaps the spool is not being shifted far enough to fully engage the detent. Are those cable opersted? Dan

    Hydraulic/Electric toplink for B2650 (w/o rear remotes)?

Probably more useful for allowing the implement to follow ground contours. Leveling can be accomplished with pressure. I just checked and actual prices are $109 vs $190 and $224. Float does preclude the use of lock valves to prevent cylinder drift. Dan

    Installing a Grapple

A single spool manual valve is easy and inexpensive. This is specifically designed for the standard L series but the concept works for just about any recent Kubota with an open loader station. Just have to tweak the hose lengths and mounting bracket. https://windyridgefarm.us/EZ-PZ_Base_Kit.php...

    Installing a Grapple

Electric or manual valve? Electric valve operated with a button on the joystick is usually prefered for a grapple but manual vakve next to joystick is a lot cheaper. Dsn

    Hydraulic/Electric toplink for B2650 (w/o rear remotes)?

Yes - much less expensive than people think. I do lots of these and unless there is some problem with obstructions that list will put the valve and couplers under the seat. Then its just a some minor rerouting of the backhoe supply line. The valve and couplers are Summit. The part numbers are...

    Hydraulic/Electric toplink for B2650 (w/o rear remotes)?

This will set the valve on that under seat shelf with four 1/2" AG couplers rigidly mounted horizontally in a 2 x 2 pattern to the top ports. The valve has JIC-8 male fittings in the P, T, and PB ports ready to hook up to the backhoe and loader valve hoses. I would guess you could get the...

    Installing a Grapple

You just insert the valve for the grapple into the existing power beyond circuit coming from the loader valve. Disconnect power beyond hose from loader valve at hydraulic block and connect it to P on the new grapple valve. Connect T on grapple valve to the open port on the hydraulic block...

    Hydraulic/Electric toplink for B2650 (w/o rear remotes)?

Here is the plumbing. Top is the two existing lines for the backhoe. Bottom is the modified circuit with the new valve installed in the backhoe supply line. The blue line is the new tank return. Dan

    Hydraulic/Electric toplink for B2650 (w/o rear remotes)?

I do these all of the time and you are quite welcome. I am saying no hoses on the quick connects - mount them right on top of the valve. That will save you significant $$$ and a lot of grief dealing with hose management. You need to add a tank return to the plumbing for the valve. That is not...
