    How good is alternate energy?

Logic and reality from an energy standpoint are inapplicable for many. Some of those for whom it is inapplicable, it’s about how it makes them feel. Others (as in politicians creating the alternative energy mandates) it’s about money. Knowing where they, their families, friends, and business...

    Dirt/silt control

I think a dry day with a box blade you could do a lot of good without spending any money, and if that doesn’t fully address it a load or two of strategically placed gravel should totally stop the silting. Nice place you have there. Good luck with it!

Possible to lower 3 pt hitch more?

It does appear both of the side links are adjustable and they both appear to be screwed in most or all the way. I’d run them out as far as they go and see if that fixes it. If only one is adjustable I’d run that one all the way out and if that gets it low enough, put an adjustable on the other...

    Dirt/silt control

Maybe I’m not looking at it right but it looks like the road is sloped the wrong way going into that curve and would work a lot better if it was sloped toward the field, dumping water into the ditch running along the field edge instead of aiming it at your house. Of course if you don’t happen to...

Best rope for bringing trees down

To directly answer the question I use a 120’ 3/4” 15k lb work strength/30k break strength bull rope, 100’ 5/8” 9k/18k bull rope, and 90’ 1/2” 5k/10k for various tree stuff depending on the situation. Also use 3/8” grade 43 and grade 70 chain in 20’ and 25’ lengths for a variety of tree felling...

    3560le or 4701?

My L4701 came with a 765 loader. Specs for that should be attached in case you’re still looking.

Lining up FEL attachments on larger tractors

If you feel comfortable driving standing up, try that. I had problems seeing forks when sliding forks in to move pallets off the ground. So I often end up driving the HST standing up for the brief pallet on forks maneuver. For mine, the seat switch is a flipper type under the seat so I can (and...

    Dirt/silt control

I don’t know how long your driveway is. If it’s about 30’ long, just ignore this whole post. Pics are just to kind of show what I deal with at our place. Private road about 350 yards long with a hill crest 50 yards from the public road and 300 yards downhill to the end of the road with the hill...

    Driveway Drainage for neighbor

Nice to see neighbors working together to solve a problem instead of complaining, arguing, and lawyering up. 👍

    Kubota Response to Questions

No, but haven’t asked them a lot, and have never asked about non-OEM modifications.

    Need Flail Mower Recommendations

Agree with that. I’m not exactly a tree hugger, but I do have neighbors in smoke range and contrary to opinion of some I’m not a complete a**hole.

    Removing L344 loader from BX1880

I have found greasing the cups the bottom part fits in and keeping them clean of debris as well as greasing the pins also helps. When I got mine from the dealer the pins and cups were bone dry. I take mine off for some mowing so there’s often grass type debris stuck in the empty greased cups...

    Removing L344 loader from BX1880

It is nice that the level spot I have is concrete in a building but all you really need is a level (or more accurately, flat) area the length and width of the tractor + loader. Serious question with no sarcasm, etc. intended.... You obviously have a tractor and loader. Can’t you make a flat...

    Need Flail Mower Recommendations

    1) Don’t have a very good place to burn. 2) Open burning requires a permit in my county. Didn’t used to but has for several years. Getting a permit and dealing with the occasional permit compliance follow up is a bit of a PITA. Not bad if you’re clearing land once in a while but a PITA for...

Might be able to find some cheap diesel tractors in OR in few years

It’s a no go on the oxen if they ever figure out oxen are bovines. Their exhaust (farts) are as bad for air quality as a deleted diesel pickup rolling coal. Clearly you’re not woke.

Might be able to find some cheap diesel tractors in OR in few years

When people truly believe reality is whatever they say it is they do really dumb things. Like prohibit use of vehicles such as heavy trucks which are currently necessary to basic sustenance of life.

    Removing L344 loader from BX1880

This is where I take mine off. 5 minutes off and on after first couple of times. I’m not sure how much I’d have to be paid to take it off on an unlevel or pseudo-level surface; it would have to be a LOT. Level surface is key.

Help w/ shuttle shift on new m4

A gear drive tractor is never going to be as quick as an HST doing loader work though. Likewise, an HST will never pull a ground engaging implement like a gear drive either. That’s what I tell my better half anyway. :) If you ever need a witness to testify on your behalf I’ll back you up on...

Help w/ shuttle shift on new m4

Yeah, you just need practice for precision. Be patient with yourself. You’ll get it. And yes, I currently have a HST and love it for loader and blade work but it isn’t exactly my first (or second) tractor so I’m not a stranger to clutches and shuttle trannies.

Caution when removing the LA344 on the BX1880

Tight clearance mowing. Ideal for my various uses would have been a M around 65hp an a small BX. Too much up front cost, too much storage, too much maintenance, too many implements that wouldn’t work with both; just too much. So I ended up with the compromise of the biggest little tractor that...
