    Honestly, HST are easy to fix !, what they are not ?.IS CHEAP !. up until my purchase of my b2100 hst, i've never owned..let alone worked on a tractor in all my life. soo..what better time than to dig in ?..lol. split it, rip it apart, replace with new parts, put back together, easy right...

    What is this loose hose? B2100

    yep, connects to the large nipple that is around the bottom of the fuel cap, any spilled fuel drains to the ground.

    you can't pull or press the liners out the bottom, the way the block is made ?, there is no room to remove them from the bottom. they have to be pulled or pressed out through the top. just like any piston has to go in ?, same goes for a sleave or liner, they must go in from the top of the block.

    they think they are saving time and money would be my guess ?. but what they are going to find out is, once this machine shop see's the damage in the cylinder from the chisel marks ?. they are going to tell them they can't back up their work because of it.

    all i know is, anytime you have a reg/rec in these circuits ?..this tells me it takes ac voltage from the gen/stator..and converts the ac to dc voltage.

    sooo..this does mean it was 12 vdc huh ?, i could not figure out how it was 12 vac, and yet be wired to the reg/rec as well ?. this told me, it was 12vdc as most systems are. if this is the case ?, thank you for setting it right.

    if the lights are being operated straight from the generator, then what is the reason for the reg/rec ?. most reg/rec convert ac voltage to dc voltage. i do see the lights are coming from the generator, but the generator is also connected to the reg/rec as well. again..never have seen any light...

    i have never , ever...seen any light bulbs for any car, truck, tractor to be AC voltage ?!. in my 60 yrs on this planet, this is new to me. not saying they never made them ?, but i sure as heck have never seen any. 6 volt dc, yes. 12 volt dc, yes. but 12 volt AC ?..nope..never seen them.

    Stupid little "project"

    i was thinking the very same thing, why not just install permanent studs ?. hard to tell from the back side of the hub if there is enough clearance to install the studs from the back side ?, but it sure would have saved a lot of time. by installing permanent studs, he could have just converted...

    then there is trouble in the starters solenoid for some reason, he's getting instant power when the battery is reconnected, and this is not correct. ignition switch is somehow telling the starter to crank ?. short as you said.

    first order of business is doing a compression test. diesels require a very high compression in order to run.
