Now, those are words of wisdom. ;)
I just put my parts order in, some stuff is a non-stocking item (because they don't break, they apparently get lost by other people in the dirt), and January in Wisconsin is snow season, so...
I use the valve as @Dustyx2 mentions, to answer your question a person could use Limiter Chains.
The BX can lift "something like 1,000#" if it's centered at the factory lift points.
(not your exact BX but for reference)
Not to worry, the grit in the hydraulic system will eventually plug any leaks.
(plus lower the hydraulic pressure enough so leaks are less of an issue)
As a note, STIHL would sub-contract manufacture to someone else; STIHL zero-turn mowers are nice--and made by Ferris. STIHL provides excellent service on them I hear.
The MS400 is being replaced with a 400.1, and to me it looks like they're making a "more reasonable" (i.e. "watered-down")...
I looked at the price of the BX hydraulic pump at Messick's while looking for a spare 3-Point Lower Arm C-Clip...not gonna lie, I have the Shim Kit and am not going to adjust the pressure over Maximum Rated Working Pressure. It's a tiny pump that commands a big price.
The MS400 is a factory 362 the factory hopped up, if you're looking for the weight of a 362 and near the power of a 461. (With a little tweaking it pretty much has the power of a 461).
I'm just going to use a carrot, it's already orange.
At least I didn't run over my hydraulic valve body...cringey. But I also didn't smoke a fatty, so I didn't leave it lying lost in the dirt.
Speaking of smoking a fatty, anyone notice:
I need to replace a bushing for my Kubota front end quick connect, Kubota wants $50. Do you think I can use a stack of washers?
1-1/8" OD x 5/8" ID x 15/16" long.
This guy's world revolves around cheap parts and paint. You think he's spending money on a name brand product like Gorilla Tape? He's probably going to use cling wrap and...
...black paint.
Six coats. 🤣
I was joking. :)
I'm a member at TBN, but avoid politics. I don't mind people sharing political information others like myself can learn from, I just don't participate as much as others.
I did not realize tractor guys have a problem being civil, though I'm new and members here have been awesome. I haven't been here long though, when do things change?
