    Blowing white smoke

These sound like those used on early Toyotas I used to work on. The metal “hat” friction-fits against the valve guide and the rubber seal wipes the valve stem as it runs up/dn. Forcing the hat further down damages the seal. (IF... IF... it’s the same type I USED to work on. I have no...

Front Drive Shaft Tube Damage - L2501

Not the same model (obvously) but mine was worn-thru from friction... apparently the PO ran it over brush and bent it into the internal spinning driveshaft which eventually wore-thru. I’ve not done this work yet, but after receiving advice here on OTT, and looking at the WSM for my tractor, it...

    Fuel Tank Strainer

Use a piece cut out of Flip’s felt hat. Genuine felt is a great filter and catches water also. :p

    Fuel can options

I threw away the original nozzles and bought aftermarkets that don’t use that stoopid EPA “non spill” nonsense. I also bought vents that are installed using a 1/2” blade-bit and a mallet. They are the cat’s meow and the combination turned modern hard-to-use plastic cans into...

    B3350 headlights

( Used J-bolts to mount them on angle welded to a piece of 1-inch square tubing.)

    B3350 headlights

Although we have different M models I believe we have the same 55 watt incandescent headlamps. Flip mentions the same problem I found... the loader blocks the headlights and the flash-back from the bucket or forks is really bad. I added a LED light-bar to the top of my grill and it totally...

    Removing Sod

Flip, you miss the intent of my post. I use the stuff myself. I use it all the time out on the pasture and on the runway to kill mesquite pop-ups. <edit: I don’t use it on food-plots. It’s been found in food many months later. I don’t use it in the garden even tho’ no proven harm has been...

    Cab cupholder suggestions?

I tried that Flip, and usually it works just fine as I can’t hear it “ring” over the tractor noise but I can feel it “vibrate”. The problem I’ve run into is bending/twisting around I’ve had it work it’s way out of my pocket and fall. Fortunately it’s not been run-over (yet) and sometimes I’ve...

    Cab cupholder suggestions?

My open-station M4700 didn’t have any provisions either so I ordered marine cup-holders (set of 4 = $20) and used one to draw a circle onto the top of the right fender. Used a 1/8” drill bit to drill a circle of holes inside the drawn line, and a hacksaw blade and grinder to cut out the circle...

    Removing Sod

Due to an away-from-home job I had for the last ten years of my career, I let our garden go back-to-nature, which means it totally became covered with local turf-grasses, a mix of crab-grass, nut-grass, and KR bluestem. It was like it had never been anything other. With retirement and this...

    Removing Sod

According to the Nat’l Pesticide Information Center http://npic.orst.edu/factsheets/archive/glyphotech.html The half-life of glyphosate in soil ranges between 2 and 197 days; a typical field half-life of 47 days has been suggested. Soil and climate conditions affect glyphosate's persistence in...

B2650 do they all start fast?

Yep, mine too. Even in winter it’ll start after about 3 revolutions without glow plug heat but it rarely gets down below freezing... if it does, about 5 secs of GP and it starts immediately.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I thought you were complaining a bout Bmeyers post... sorry. As for what I did today... I mowed 3 acres and smelled smoke and heard squealing, turned around and saw smoke pouring out of the mower. Looks like the center-blade spindle bearings froze. Guess that’s what I get for working on Sunday.

    bush hog sharpening

My earlier comments were made after years of efforts sharpening shredder blades to little avail trying to cut bluestem grass on an aircraft runway. Bluestem is just hard to cut cleanly. The solution?: A Finish Mower! Now I use the shredder on rough pasture and woods and the Finish Mower...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Methinks you’re making too much of this. I like the large views. It’s called “happenchance” and it’s totally UNimportant!. Either skip over those posts and enjoy the rest ... or PM a moderator... but it IS trivial,... until you find fault and blame with someone’s minor error. We can be more...

    bush hog sharpening

Yes, I can give you some advice.... Don’t waste your time sharpening bushhog blades. It will make no difference. I spent several attempts with an angle-grinder and wore out several wheels and it made no difference. Here’s a pretty good explanation from an experienced tractor guy...
