'New' B6000, 4WD feels like applying brake

Hello Henro, Good question! Here are my thoughts: If the fronts are too small, they will dig in, and the rears willl have to push them when going forward. In reverse, the rears will be dragging the fronts. In either case the ground under the fronts is going to get torn up. That is my initial...

'New' B6000, 4WD feels like applying brake

Hello Rbsingl and jroen81, The suggestion of a possible tire circumfence issue is absoluty correct. It the first logical thing to check. When four wheel drive is engaged, the fronts should be covering "slightly more ground than the rears. If this were not the case, the rears would "push the...

    bx2370 antifreeze

Well, I guess that I will say this again. As you might imagine, Kubota doesn't make antifreeze. They buy it private packaged. Here is the Material Data Safety Sheet for the product that is private labeled for them. Lmichael makes a great point. Anti-freeze is clear until they add a dye. So...

    Seems like a fuel issue

RCW gets the credit for first mentioning the cap breather issue to me as a long shot possibility. He was right on target that time. Because it is so easy to check, I have been echoing RCW's suggestion as a "first check" for fuel starvation issues ever since.

    Seems like a fuel issue

Hello Henro, I had a clogged cap problem in the past although I didn't know it until someone (I'll try to remember who) told me to give it a check. Sure enough, it was the problem. Ever since then, I always suggest taking the cap off and see what happens as a first "try it". If the tractor...

    B2650 rear work lights

Hello 2650Fan, I was looking to add rear work lights too. We have to keep in mind not to install anything with more than a 10 AMP draw. That is what the circuit is rated for. A higher draw might burn out wiring before the fuse blows. In looking at different brands of lights, I noticed that...

    Mower Deck Question

Good morning Lugbolt, I didn't think of "bolt stretch" , but that certainly could be another valid explanation. Your grease suggestions make good sense too. Good one! (or two) Bob

    Mower Deck Question

To me, the only way that could be happening is if the bolt is not tightening the blade until it is darn near bottomed out. If it bottoms out before the blade is locked down, you wind up spinning the pulley along with the belt. Well, that is my best guess. Hope that the problem gets resolved. Bob

    Mower Deck Question

Hello SDT, According to the original poster, he had the blade blocked. I am just guessing here, but the retaining bolt should be able to secure the blade in a fixed position before getting to the required torque. The "spring plates" should allow some movement of the blade if it contacts an...

    Mower Deck Question

Before buying anything, maybe you could remove the blade and add any big washer that will fit. If you can then run the bolt up tight, it would certainly be an indication that the spring plates are not as they should be.

    Mower Deck Question

Hello jei279 That is quite a puzzle. The only thing that I can think of is the "cup washers". If they were somehow flattened out, it would cause the problem. You could tighten the retaining bolt, but not enough to fix the blade in position. Well, that is all I can think of. Good luck with it! Bob

    Yard needs smoothing tool

Hello RDinNHANDAZ, This might work well. Nail some chain link fence material to a 2x4 (should be a little wider than your tractor so you may need two widths), and six or so feet long. Attach a pull chain, sling or whatever, and happy smoothing. Good luck with it. Bob
