Fixing Tractor Tire - Best Option

Depends, if your dealership is a large one they may do there own tire repair, most likely, they sub out to a Truck Tire Repair Shop. Call both see what they recommend. Also, rear tire may have a tube, so locating/repairing leak, requires removing tire. Since you have luxury of two tractors...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

The chains fetching up is due to the wide R-4 and/or R-14 tires without wheel spacers. R-1’s give you and additional 3 to 4 inches of room for sway arms on 3-point hitch. I had to keep arm tension very tight and the implement centred, no room to off-set, as your and my photos show!

To Plow or not To Plow

Certainly seem to be a lot of people making that choice. You’d need a new set of Ice chains at minimum, may need a few new tractor implements, for the new property. May be worth considering:)

    L2501 chain recommendation

Wheel spacers needed, Kubota sells a 1” spacer, however having had those R-14’s on my new l2501, I had planned to get 2”” spacers, fortunately, now have R-1’s. I’ve only chained the rear tires on my L3800 and it preformed well for seven years.

Nice job on the install of lights, with photos. Pushing snow in reverse, with inadequate lighting has been a problem for me, maybe this year, I install some LED’s !! Welcome to the forum!

    Drainage on trail

Ditch/trench with culvert under, the access road, 4”/6” culvert can do the job. Also, if you remove the organic soil and ideally replace with gravel , your access should be better?

    Procurement of a Tractor

Good luck, you may not want switch dealers, but it may be you best option. At my dealer I was told they are becoming frustrated, due to non-logical shipping of equipment. Or equipment not be shipped in order sequence. I’d check out other dealers, they may have what you want. May cost a bit...

Do you reverse your rear blade for snow ... any issues?

For the initial snow I pull the blade. Depending on how much snow, and how moist it is, will determine the best angle. For deep fresh snow, first pass I run with bucket down, just to clear extra snow. For widening, and clean-up, especially, if snow has firmed up, you have two choices 1) push...

To Plow or not To Plow

Living on the East Coast, close to the ocean, we get a real mix of snow, rain, sleet, freeze and thaw, often in the same week! Tend to plow, nothing worse than frozen slush, or glare ice from no previous plowing. As for sanding, I keep a pile 3/4” clear (crushed) stone, I can scatter with the...

Paralysis by analysis - Buying decision needs wise input!

How exciting, make sure you get lots of seat time, want to keep that cost per hour down! Curious to know what, implements you plan to have. For myself I use box blade for three seasons, rear blade for winter snow. Box Blade is definitely my go to implement for road work and earth moving.

Paralysis by analysis - Buying decision needs wise input!

True, if buying used, you get what’s on the tractor. You may find new, is your best option once you see what’s available and the price of used. When you buy new, you have a choice, as to what tire option you want. If your diving on hard surfaces

Paralysis by analysis - Buying decision needs wise input!

Based on your requirements for farm, forestry and construction projects I’d go with a R-1 Ag. Tire. You get more ground clearance, they are mean to use with agriculture attachments on 3 point hitch, better traction, better on rough ground.

    First service at 50 hours

Don’t worry about how many hours when, for many of us, owning a tractor is an expensive hobby, like sailing, or race cars, or big game hunting. i’ve never owned a new car, but yet I’m on my my second new tractor? Go figure!!!

L2501 lands, pleasantly surprised with power!

50 hour update, the 2501 preforms extremely well, can be a bit slower on a steep uphill climb, and a bit of lugging when working it hard with box blade. Having had l3800 previously, I had expected, a bit less power, so some work takes bit longer to preform. I was having an issue while doing...

    2nd problem with R-14 Tires!

split rims for R-14’s ,that offset, would solve a few issues, no need for wheel spacers, provide for wider stance if desired. I suspect the split rim is more expensive, but it could be an option .
