    How do you you fuel up your tractor?

    Never spill a drop, your good, I use a newer metal safety can and no matter how hard I try I usually have some that will chug and spill on the hood. Guess I better look into one of those "no-spill" cans myself.

    How do you you fuel up your tractor?

    5 gallons at a time in a safety can, funnel in the tank, then I stand on the front tire and pour the fuel in. Probably not the best advise but it works for me.

    Maintenance every 50 hours?

    I believe the manual says to change both transmission filters and to change the engine oil and filter at 50hrs. It's been debated whether or not to change the trans fluid too at 50hrs, I just did the filters and feel fine about it. I would have to refer to my manual for the next service, I want...

    Where do I go?

    The arch is alright, but I've seen it hundreds of times. If it were me I'd go when it's warm out not in December, it is located right on the Mississippi River. Id say a couple hours tops would be all it would take to see what you want to see, at the arch. If it were me I would go in the spring...

    Anyone wax their tractor?

    Buffing huh... I guess if I had a deep scratch that needed it, I probably would. I did have a few minor scratches that the wax seems to have covered up, but I havent had it out in the sun since I waxed it.

    Very nice! I get tired of twisting around as well. I'm going to see what might work on my L3800. Thanks for posting...

    Anyone wax their tractor?

    Well I did it yesterday, power washed and then waxed my L3800. I used the spray on wipe off wax and it worked like a charm. The only issue I had was grease from my FEL got splattered all over. I had to take a rag soaked in simple green and scrub it off. Is there such a thing as over greasing...

    3 Point Quick Hitch

    Go with wolf mans advise. Once you have the proper bushings for each implement it makes life a whole lot easier. When I first bought my quick hitch I only had one set of the bushings, I kept forgetting to buy other sets while I was out, I just used the same ones on which ever implements I...

    Wisdom && Guideance L3800HST/MX4700HST

    I agreed to pay, somewhere around $18,000 for my l3800 HST w/ FEL and r4 tires last December. I can't help with the price of the backhoe. I drive by my dealer everyday, so if you need a rough estimate I could stop in and get a ball park figure for you.

    Wisdom && Guideance L3800HST/MX4700HST

    Sorry to hear about your situation, but a positive attitude can go a long way and you seem to have one. A friend of mine past away on Nov 5th of last year at the age of 46, after loosing his battle with cancer. It really opened my eyes to try and live now and to stop putting things off. Which...

    Anyone wax their tractor?

    This is a good question, I've thought about asking if anyone else power washes their tractor and waxing is just taking it to the next level. Mine could use both at the moment. It's supposed to be up near 70 around here this week, so I'll probably pull mine out and give her a bath. I learned...

    Slopes/hillsides.

    Eric, would mind posting a pic of your aerator? I'd like to buy one or possibly make one. It would just be for personal use so I don't want to spend to much on something I'll only use on occasion. Thanks

    How can I make my tractor safer?

    I've found that the perception of angles doesnt come across that well in photos. I've climbed a few steep hills on the dirt bike and thought I had really done something, took a pic and showed it to others and they're like, that doesn't look that steep. Just sayn...

    How can I make my tractor safer?

    I'd fill the tires with water as the dealer mentioned. You may need some sort of adapter to get your hose on the valve stem. I believe you just put the tire valve stem at 12 o'clock and fill the tire until water comes out. You want to leave a cushion of air in the tire.

    disc accumulating dirt

    TX Jim, has your answer. I too have clay soil and if its dry its way to hard to work. I usually try and work it when it has moisture in it, otherwise it's almost impossible to turn over. Pre Kubota days for me, I used an old JD disc and some of the cutters were missing. I was able to keep some...

    The new member posting the same question is the least of the problem. I don't think that the search works all that well in here, you have to be to specific. Ok so maybe that was jut operator error, but someone new members will run into the same problem. To me the biggest problem is when...

    Cover crop

    Newb, thanks for the reply. Those are all things I need to consider. For now, I'll probably go with winter wheat, I've had luck with it on the past. I'm pretty far south in Illinois , 70 miles from Kentucky, so I should be good planting this late in the year. The farmers are just now harvesting...

    I have witnessed a number of accidents loading atv's and dirt bikes in the bed of a trucks over the years. I couldn't imagine loading a tractor, especially when your tired from working, that's usually the reason for the accidents that I have seen, guys are wore out from riding. Get a trailer...
