Let's help Bart out - read and weigh in...

Hello folks, just yesterday received this message in the mailbag from Bart who is in Tanzania Africa! A bit of a drive from here. He's in the process of considering a couple of Kubotas for use on his acreage. His email is below. Give it a bit of a read and if you want, weigh in with your...

Where do you buy your parts from?

Oops! I've added that. Nice catch! I think Vic's got some steering parts on order for you right? :D

    B 7200 Clutch ??

Dusty, was it giving you an error or anything when you tried to post pics? You should be able to add attachments/pictures by clicking on "Manage Attachments" below the editing box and then browsing and uploading a picture or two... I'll check out those pics in your album now... Yep, looks like...

    Tillers vs. Cultivators

Stony Plain, why you're just a couple of hours up the road from the shop! And you are quite right - if you only have "that green tractor" then you'll have to turn in your OTT membership. :D Other members like Michael get away with it because he's still got his orange tractor kicking around...

    removing lower pulley B7000

That front idler pulley is a bit tricky - like Vic mentioned, you'll likely need a deep socket to get around that 46mm nut. Deep because that shaft sticks out much too far to get any ordinary socket over top. In the end we actually ended up fabricating our own socket just for that. I think we...

    B 7200 Clutch ??

Well done! Tackling the job yourself. Hats off! If you could snap a few pics as you go that would be cool to see - might help (or scare) others from doing the same thing. Do keep us posted on your rebuild progress!

Where do you buy your parts from?

Good afternoon folks, Just as the title says, I'm interested in knowing where everyone turns to when their favorite orange machine needs some TLC. Is a trip down to your local dealer? Do you shop online? eBay, Messick's or TractorSmart? You can pick more than one option if that make sense for...

    Busy days at the shop...

These pictures were taken the other day outside of the shop. Looks like Vic has a mini-dealership going! Vic, why did you move that gray B5000 all by himself over there? He's lonely enough as it is!

What videos do you want to see from us?

Bumping this back up - we are filming next week. Now's your chance to get your suggestion in! :)

    L185dt

Forgot to mention - the L185 is about 18 horsepower and 15 PTO horsepower. Plenty for running a mower or pushing snow like you mention. Now, if you were pulling stumps out on a regular basis... maybe we'd steer you in another direction... :D

    L185dt

Hello there ltienken, thank you for signing up and posting on the site! Michael is right - the L185 is a strong runner. Even at 30 years old I would not worry too much, hours are a more important indicator of how much "seat time" the equipment has seen. Even then, if the previous owner had...

    Zen-Noh ZL1802 FD

Not sure if he still has the original around - most folks just chuck them once they are done. Hook him up with a new one perhaps? :D

    work shop manual

Yah, that's the nice thing about Deere, they have their manuals available on CDROM. Definitely an equipment company that has "stepped into the 21st century" when it comes to their reference literature. That being said, I know some guys (Vic) that like the ability to lay the paper workshop...

    b21 clutch

Hello clucks, welcome to the site and thanks for posting your question. Also, good on ya for tackling a repair yourself - splitting a tractor is a lot of work! This part here: made me laugh. If you are in Surrey then I know what "local dealer" you are referring to. Was down there the other...

    work shop manual

Hey Neil, The WSM for the L2550 is at least a few hundred pages in length - not something that can easily be converted into electronic format (not that it should be mind you). The price for the repairs manuals is high, but after you have one you will definitely thank yourself! The internet can...

Where are the good used ones?

Agreed. Good tips dusty. Spoken like a man who's done a search or two for a used Kubota! :D

Where are the good used ones?

Steve, a B5001 for $1800 is a sweetheart of a deal! Nice find!
