Ok sounds like we are on the right track here. I'm going to leave things as-is and give these settings more time to soak on the site - a few days. If you see any slowdowns, let me know when/where/how and we can continue to dig in. If not, we may have got it with these current settings.

Ok that's good feedback, I did make changes that I would have expected to make the site respond better and more reliably. Anyone seeing an improvement in forum responsiveness?

Hey sdk1968 - Timings about how long it look to create a new post versus edit an existing one was helpful. I tested and noticed a delay when creating new posts too. I made a change on the backend and I'm seeing an improvement in responsiveness but my testing is pretty light. Interested to know...

Ok think we got this sorted it out. It was a combination of settings, out of date software versions, database versions, a whole bunch of stuff that needed to be updated and untangled. The new max sizes are 1024x768. Could someone give this a shot and see if you are unblocked? Seems to work ok...
