Hmmm, site should not be running slow but I believe the reports that it is. To help identify a root cause, if you notice the site being slow could you report a few things - time of day, what browser you are using, how many other users are online (see bottom of the page), and generally what you were trying to do at the time (ie. read a thread, post a reply).

The site is fine for me, no speed issues on my end, at least not forum wise, me that's another story.

I fried a computer from being on OTT too much, but I don't think that's related. :p

Hey sdk1968 - Timings about how long it look to create a new post versus edit an existing one was helpful. I tested and noticed a delay when creating new posts too. I made a change on the backend and I'm seeing an improvement in responsiveness but my testing is pretty light. Interested to know if you see an improvement on time to post new as well?

Here is what is happening with me.. One, I use DuckDuckGo as my browser and if I look at a post and then look at another, each successive one gets slower and slower.

Last one I looked at (this one), took almost 15 seconds before it loaded.

If I log out and come back again, everything is fine until I do the successive post thing and then it gets progressively slower and slower. If I look at say 5 different threads, my browser will time out.

8:49 pm tonight bogged when I hit the back button to continue looking at a menu of " new posts" then when itcame up, after I selected a new post to view, I got the site not responding message. Then it snapped out of it.

Has been working well most of the day, but have been every day "marking forums as read " so my new post searches didn't keep bringing up the horrendous long lists of unread posts. No I don't manage read everything :p

Chrome on an Android tablet. Using wifi connected to cable.

Ok still fiddling around here. Need to make optimizations one at a time so I know which ones are helping and which are not. Let me know if you see any improvement after this message?

It is 9:48PM CDT and the site is running the best it has in days. The page to do the reply came up pretty fast.

Added after posting messages. After submitting the post, it came back really fast. It hasn't been this fast for a long time.

Ok that's good feedback, I did make changes that I would have expected to make the site respond better and more reliably. Anyone seeing an improvement in forum responsiveness?
