    I have the M18 saw. The 12 amp battery makes a big difference compared to the 5 amp battery. The saw is stronger, and it runs A LOT longer.

    How many hrs on the machine ? How many have you put on it ? three pins in two years is a lot. Are you handling logs, or digging rock with it ? How worn are the bushings ? Worn bushings will allow excessive movement, flexing the pin beyond normal tolerances.

    I use the bed mostly as a over grown tool box, and move most things with the trailer.

    My 1100 easily handles a 5x8 trailer with 18 inch sides, filled with hardwood. I also love the front hitch for backing up the trailer.

    You can get good, or you can get cheap, but not both. You might manage to get a good used one, cheap off of market place. If you have a bit of time.

    Any machine can be rebuild/repainted as many times as you want, but they are only original once. My vote is to keep it original, as the paint and tins are in great condition.

    Tire size

    On a 2 wheel drive, sure no problem. On a 4x4, probably not, too much of a change in diameter for the 4x4. You would need to check the rolling circumference to know for sure. Also the 6 x 12 tires might be too wide and contact the front axle on the inside.

    I just googled "corn head grease", sounds like pretty good stuff. I will keep it in mind if a gear box seal starts to fail.

    Tool box option for those with a cab tractor.

    Any issues with the fuse block at the base of the floor. I looked at one at the dealer last week, and could not believe they put it at floor level, right where your feet and stuff would be hitting it.
