Lucy(named after the red head Lucille Ball from the show I love Lucy) is the family dog. She is a red heeler/Australian cattle dog mix. She loves cows, and riding in or on anything thing with wheels. The wife does agility contests with her and won a few ribbons. She is super high energy. She'll...

Hiring out a hay farmer in WNC.

My wife and I bought a hobby farm about 3 years ago. We had an acre of hay we were going to put into a pasture. I got hurt at work and it just got over grown. A buddy/neighbor of mine asked about cutting and baling it......well he didn't have the equipment so now another person is involved and...

    Planting the food plots.

I let my dad have the privilege of planting. The last time he ran a planter was 1995 and then retired from farming in 1996. It really made my day seeing him do it, and I'm sure the same for him doing it.

    Planting the food plots.

Got everything hooked up, greased, oiled and lubed to plant my food plots. Had to adjust the planter a bit.........something made in 1950 doesn't hook up exactly to something from 2023 lol

    Food Plot.

I had a 2nd shop cat who spent all day on a jd 112 project. It was funny the day I was selling the mower the cat jumped up on the seat looked at me, then looked at the buyer as to say " hey this is mine". Unfortunately after selling the mower he started roaming around outside more and used...

    Flag holder.

Thank. I think I'm pretty set though. I have 32 pairs and of course use 2 pairs. Sometime might get some custom made for pumpkins. I have a few orginal metal plates yet. People go crazy for those or rotary hoe blades at auctions. I was selling some duplicate plastic plates online and had 5...

    Food Plot.

Sadly I'm not sure yet. I have some old sun flower, corn, soybean, and wheat seed I should get rid of. I thought about dumping all that in a fertilizer cart and dragging it in. I'm itching to try the kubota on the corn planter. More than likely corn, that way whatever is left my son can play...

    Flag holder.

All my equipment have small American flags on them........usually from a holiday display and never taken off before the next display. I live on a busier road and people sometimes stop and take pictures of me using my antique equipment so I like having an American flag waving. I decided to...

    New garden question

I still play around with a plow in my wife's garden and my wildlife plots. You really break up the hard pan, bring up new soil, and burry debris. Before the plow I'd plant a cover crop like peas and oats the disc them under in the spring. Now I spread manure in the area, fall plow, let the...

Anyone know Solar? Help me think this through

Doesn't help with main electricity but they do make solor powered trickel chargers . My main shed has power but no lights. I thought about a solar powered motion sensor light. Have the panel outside and the lights facing in.

Congrats on the buy. My lx2610 is about 3 weeks old. You'll really enjoy it, and find more projects than time you can do with it.

    Tilt Wheel Fuction Not Working.

Talking with old time farmers who grew up during the depression they learned how to get by or use what they had and still live by that. I had a buddy in high school you couldn't even get into their driveway so many old trucks and tractors parked all over " cause of parts" or " some day we'll...

    Tilt Wheel Fuction Not Working.

On the farm, got plentying of baling twine/string. Usually have a foot piece balled up in the back pocket.........you never know what you might find needing a band aid fix to get you back to the shop.

    Tilt Wheel Fuction Not Working.

Yes kind of my thoughts. If the spring wasn't needed Kubota wouldn't have added it. My cousin is an engineer for JD he said every year they sit down and see what they can turn into plastic or remove. If the true fix for the non stop tilting was to remove the spring. Kubota could save about 3.00...

    Tilt Wheel Fuction Not Working.

Bit of an update. I mowed for 3 hours today and not once did the wheel slam up. So I'm guessing the spring was too short or strong.
