Just had a look at mine. The adjustment is at the front at the handle. Guessing you will need to loosen the handle and turn the jamb nut out to meet the handle, thereby lengthening the rod and in turn allowing the hook to further engage the plate at the back of the seat mechanism.

Have a look underneath and you will see the latch hook which holds the seat down. This can easily be adjusted….by the nut on the threaded rod if my memory is correct. Adjusted mine.

yes, make sure any accessory running from fan belt is not seized. Best to remove any drive belts. You might consider draining part, or all of the oil into a clean drain pan and examine the oil for particles? And/or thru a strainer or filter of some sort.

Congrats! I have the same tractor. Very happy. Post some pics. I had a tiny leak at a hydraulic line on the loader. Simple extra partial turn on the fitting fixed that. I need to check my crows foot tools to ensure I have the correct sizes for other fittings which are a little concealed...

Same as everyone. Dumped land line years ago. Haven’t missed it. Updated family when it was tossed. Others updated as time passed. Nothing worse than working on your tractor, enjoying yourself, when telemarketers call wanting to clean your ducks. 😝
