I am a new guy to this forum with a B2601 that has a loader and backhoe that I bought new last year. I really like the machine overall but the seat is a sad piece of engineering on an otherwise very well done little machine. Tell me please, how do you keep this seat from constantly popping up? I screw the tensioner in and out tight and not; hand push the holder and tighten.....over and over but without fail pretty much every 3rd time I get off the tractor the seat pops up. What's up with this? I surely can't be the only one experiencing this. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Have a look underneath and you will see the latch hook which holds the seat down. This can easily be adjusted….by the nut on the threaded rod if my memory is correct. Adjusted mine.
Just had a look at mine. The adjustment is at the front at the handle. Guessing you will need to loosen the handle and turn the jamb nut out to meet the handle, thereby lengthening the rod and in turn allowing the hook to further engage the plate at the back of the seat mechanism.
To me, the seat seems better than the one on the JD 2025R. The JD's springs were less springy.
