It passed inspection due to being "grand fathered". The house grew in size over the last 35 years, the well remained and became indoors. The inspection mentioned a sample valve was indeed, missing. The powers that be signed off on it without it. I'll have one installed.

@RCW : You haven't seen any like that, and you've seen 100's... That's disconcerting for me. Cap and casing material is unknown right now. The workmanship of the whole discombobulation is "sh#+. Yes, that's a hard and full 90 degrees ell at casing top. I seriously appreciate your input!

I'm not home. Will be there tomorrow and over the next few days I'll pull off the insulation and take a better look at the "cap". As I said, it's a former part time use cabin / lodge / house. I have my work cut out for me. IDK if there's an actual cap, it looks like duct tape to me in the...

    Water Well Advice

OP here. Thank you to everyone for your advice. Having never had a well system before, I appreciate everyone's knowledge. Last year when we bought the home, water was crystal clear. Put it in a glass, crystal clear. There is no water filter system. Winterized the house over winter...

The water well pump is on a separate circuit thru it's own circuit breaker. Am I missing something?

    Water Well Advice

From everything everyone is saying, I think that I'll be better off replacing the pressure tank, and adding an additional pressure valve before the well pump line goes into the pressure tank. My system doesn't have that. It also doesn't have a water filter btwn the tank and the house. I have...

    Water Well Advice

This past winter I blew out the lines after draining the water lines, water heater, pressure tank. After shutting the well pump off thru the circuit breaker. Guage on pressure tank still read 40 PSI. A neighbor said that's normal because it's a bladder system. I thought that he might be...

You mentioned an issue that I have too. My pressure level in the pressure tank never seems to change. It's always at 40 PSI. Broken guage? Maybe. Even when I shut the place down for the winter, drained the water lines, shut off the well pump, etc. The pressure tank still read 40 PSI. I...

I'm striking out. But thank you for that link! I looked for something like that for hours and found nothing. You post it and there it is! In that link, ran it by Section, Township, and Range. And even address. Got zero. I learned all about my neighbors' wells though. It looks like I'll...

i talked to my neighbors, mostly farmers. Really awesome and friendly people. But.... No one knows anything about the well on my property. I spoke to the previous owner, got the same reply. I'll look into the link that you sent.

It's a drilled deep well. There's been a bit of "new" construction done on this property over the many years. The well cap was 8 feet away from the house initially in 1987. The house was expanded and now the well cap is indoors, almost in the house now. Fortunately, it's a grandfathered in...

Outstanding information! Thank You. I know where the well and well cap is. Well cap appears to be removable. I can't verify right now but it's enclosed in a building. I'm not home right now but can check in a couple days. But I believe that it's a 6" OD pipe. As for the pressure tank...

    Water Well Advice

So, I'm looking for advice from those who have a well system or are professionals in the business. I'm going to have a couple water well companies come out and examine my water well and system. But I'd like your folks' input because this is my first well system, and I don't want to be too...

Traded my L2501 HST for a Kioti DK4210SE

I'll bite this line. In the late 1960's and early 70's I collected farm toys. I had JD, International, Allis-Chalmers and other steel toy tractors with steel functional implements. It was was pretty cool stuff. Today those are collectables. I was a JD fan and couldn't wait to become a man...

    Looking at grapples

Respectfully, here in NW Wisconsin where I'm at, the soil is almost black. Soft. You could shoot an arrow and it would bury itself 1/2 it's length in the ground. That being said, I lived in clay soil, desert like conditions for most of my life. I wouldn't have been able to break the surface...
