What happened & what I tried: looking for wisdom & help

Not the seat switch (that was my first thought too!). The seat switch just closes the fuel solenoid and you need to be on a hill or leaning off the seat to get that. I never got black smoke. Mine either quit or coughed and kept running. To me, black smoke is the sign of either too much fuel...

    My new toy

(In slow Homer voice...) "MMMMmmmmm shi-neeeeee..." (CLAUGHHHHHHH) Get an "orange" bottle of New Finish and get her all detailed out after you play with it for a few days! Two coats in a month will keep her looking that way all year and forever if you wax it once a year and keep it garaged...

    Please price my B7200

That would actually be a pretty good "restoration" project for someone looking for a first tractor. I would think $3000 would be a good starter and deal from there. Just remember, you location and the condition (inop) are big negatives. You never know though. There may be someone as far away as...

need help, hard start, B6000. (video inside)

Wolfman or one of the techs would know far better than I on how diesel injectors fare but... My '99 4Runner lost an injector this summer. I did a day of research on the 'Net regarding "buy new" or "buy rebuilt." In my case, buying re-built saved you about 35-40% but, the failure rate of...

    Drooping 3PL on BX1860

Marc, Sometimes, hydraulic valves leak a little bit due to a tiny speck of contamination. In your case it may resolve itself with use. I cannot imagine corrosion inside your tractor given its age, unless it was parked at the beach all its life. If this machine was parked indoors, it should be...

    Newbie

Yup! We love "tractor porn!" Pictures are easy to upload and really show off your work. Glad to hear your tractor is on the mend. Good for it! And good on you for saving it. Ray

    B7200D (4wd, manual tran) Price?

Woodswalker, Sounds like you have a heck of a nice "project tractor." Take lots of pictures now to document your restoration/renovation and post them here! Nice to hear a sweet but misused tractor found a good home. Congrats! Ray

    Please price my B7200

Photos are critical to determining a sales price. Upload a few, if you have time. While not the one to offer pricing suggestions, I wonder how you will manage a property the prior owner used a tractor on... Is there no possibility that you'll need it in the future? The repairs to it wouldn't...

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

The valve sits right under your seat, inside the rear end. In cold weather, I cannot imagine the rear end getting very warm. I can't see the tranny (right in front of the rear end) getting too warm during operation. Unless the fluid warms up and gets pumped around warming the valve components...

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

Thanks TJ! I hope it helps. I got a PM from a member and thought this reply might also be helpful so I dragged it out for anyone else who might have the issue and need to try a "home remedy" to resolve it... The tech thought part of mine might be due to the fact that the "bar" that is between...

Bluegill, Thanks. That is one heck of a hard device to explain. I hope the pics and vid help people. By the way, here is a short and choppy video I shot showing how the Position Arm adjusts the valve control rod... For some reason it took forever to upload yesterday...

Thanks! And by the way, there was a 2000 Ford New Holland 3-pt in pieces on the table next to mine and it is essentially identical in operation to the Kubota valve and control assembly.

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

Just got back from the dealer... They wanted me to be the final quality control before they returned it. The technician and Service Writer spent 40 minutes going over all kinds of stuff with me while I was there. The tech even put new hydraulic filters on because the case had been open -but...

Part 3: What The Heck Was Wrong With This Dang Thing (We Think) If you watch the video, as the 3-pt control arm was moved to pick up my implement, the Pressure Control Valve started opening to port pressure to the piston (moving out, in the picture, to the left), just like it was supposed to...

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

Part 2: How the 3-pt works... Looking at this picture again, you can see the two valves that slide in the valve block. The center positioning valve ports pressure right into the 3-pt activation piston located just above the valve (in this picture on the other side of the control valve). Just...

Grab a cup of coffee... this may be a long one. Part 1 (Sorry: For some reason this site counts the number of pics as twice what I really post and limits me so I'll split it up...) Here is the valve assembly for the 3-pt... The Red arrow point to the valve that ports pressure to the piston...

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

HEY! That looks almost like the tractor I bought!!! (shudder) Great news. Dealer called yesterday... Once cleared in, the hydraulic mechanic dismantled my control valve and piston. He said at roughly 200 hours of use, my piston bore for the 3-pt actuator still had all the X-swirls marks in the...

Shaun, The dealership tells me they have to constantly wait for approval from Kubota to go to the next step. It took the dealer a week to get the machine checked out and to get the video to the Kubota regional guy. Then it took a few days to get the gauges on site to test all the components...
