    Winter Prep Already?!?!

We are supposed to get a 'cold' front coming in this weekend. I don't think it's enough for hell to freeze over and us to beat the gators, but we can always hope 😎

    Cooler Mount

With that on board, every job would become a multiday project, and the results would be less than optimal ;) It would however make it much easier to get friends to help out with the project.

    Cooler Mount

One of the many benefits of having a backhoe. little cooler sits in the bucket and follows me wherever I go.

    Stumps I hate them.

All of those ideas are great, but only one of them involves play time with the backhoe ;)

    Winter Prep Already?!?!

Winter prep? For me that means tuning the skis, putting a fresh battery in the avalanche transceiver, and making sure my winter cloths still fit. I guess I'll put the boat back in the mancave so I don't have to winterize it. Gotta stock up on Gentleman Jack, it's Go Vols time. Winter in TN...

    First Car

First one I bought was a '72 Datsun 240Z. It's currently sitting in the mancave waiting on me to have time to restore her. Anyone have or know of a parts source. Maybe your relative that has one sitting in a barn they'd like me to haul off for them ;)

Lx2610 w/cab - wheel spacer size and any info please!

I don't remember the torque setting. My son looked it up on his phone, set his fancy digital torque wrench, and handed it to me to. No grapple, I use forks and finesse ;) Pretty sure the butt pucker values will apply to grapple work as well.

    In market for budget welder

I looked at it but marked if off the list because it only does DC tig, no AC tig. He wants to tig aluminum for some reason and I didn't argue. I'm looking forward to messing up some aluminum ;)

    Turf tires on LX2610/B2650

I'll measure with the rops at the first pin setting then.

    In market for budget welder

I've been reading along because I've been looking for a welder myself. Mainly wanting the Miller 220 multi process for Mig, stick, and both a/c and d/c tig. Not exactly a budget friendly option, but it does it all. My son ended getting the Esab rebel which has the same functionality. He...

    Turf tires on LX2610/B2650

I have a 2650 with turfs. I'll try to find time after work today to measure to the top of the rops. I've never measured since mine rolls right into the mancave with room to spare.

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

You do realize that this thread will just continue with differing advise until you buy the tractor and shut us up ;) Get the one you want and enjoy it.

Dealer warns front axle will wear out if left in 4x4

Yes, running in 4wd when not needed will add extra wear on the system, but I don't think you'll notice it for the first 30 years or so. What you will notice is that you will wear out your front tires and have to replace those more often. I specifically don't use 4wd when doing most loader work...

Dealer warns front axle will wear out if left in 4x4

There's a little controller that lets 'you decide' if you want to engage the front axle or not. Use it as you want ;)

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

I agree. For me the time factor is multiplied. Not only do I save time by doing things with the tractor vs manually, but the next 2 days aren't spent lying on a heating pad taking high doses of Tylenol and Aleve ;)

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

For the uses you've stated I doubt you'd be limited by pto HP, but I imagine that loader lifting power would be the limiting factor. I haven't looked at the lift capacity for the different BX models. Physical size wise they are about the same, the little B being physically larger. If you are...

9-12,000 watt Portable Standby Generator Recommendations

Probably not what you're looking for, but I went a different route. I got 2 small yamaha 2200 generators. light weight and easy to carry. They can be run in series for higher output, like running the A/C for the camper or running most of the house. As a single unit I can run one for the...

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

Do you need a tractor ... No. Do you want a tractor ... from what I've read that would be a big fat Yes. You could hire out most of the work but at least in my mind there is 'real value' in doing things for yourself the way you want them done. It's hard to put a price tag on that. You...
