1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

A B tractor wont be as expensive as mine. Dealer would do it for about $400 I think. I'm guessing you're saving about 250-300 doing it yourself or 100-150 in parts. 50 hour service is not just check fluids and tighten bolts... though you need to check wheel nut torque, you mainly need to change...

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

The service dept in any car, tractor, or machinery dealer hates warranty work. They lose money on it versus paying customers because warranty has low labor rates that don't include many things they still have to do. This is even worse if you're complaining about something not broken, but 'i hear...

Dealer warns front axle will wear out if left in 4x4

I think the saleman should stick with sales. He should talk about features etc. His statement about 4wd is misguided. Using 4wd is mandatory on a tractor when using a loader and even more so when operating on slopes. It's not safe without it. When on dirt or grass, the front axle has ability...

I bought my L47 from Burke Equipment in tax-free Delaware. No one else had it available... it sold before or as it got on the lot everywhere else. Prior to buying, I got put on a 'first in line' L47 waitlist in all kubota dealers near me (4 total)... those guys still haven't received one and...

    3 Point Quick Hitch Suggestions

I had pats with l3301 and wasn’t too happy with it. The bolts that attach it kept getting loose despite really torquing well. The u bolts also got loose and bent. The nuts literally just pulled through the threads stripping them. Company solution said use loctite, but to be fair they send me...

Modifying an equipment trailer for the M6060.

That’s a wide tractor at 86 inches…Trailers are high demand. Good time to sell as you’ll probably get more than you paid for it. Prices literally 2x from precovid. Of course you’d have to upgrade to trailer with no fenders since you don’t want to go wider. I don’t really see another way unless...

Titan Attachments 57" Ditch/Bank Flail Mower failure.

Del Morino makes some of their stuff china. Anything under $10k probably made in china. I'm 95% sure most of their flail mowers are made in china, including the centurion in the pic.

    Pretty scary, but good outcome

lol sorry but I gotta say 'idiot.' Who parks their tractor near a dead tree and also removes ROPS. The chainsaw use and other stuff screams 'i dunno what i'm doing.' That tree was so ready to fall years ago based on the stump. This can't be at the OP because it's a green tractor...1025r with a...

Yea I agree it is a tool and has it's place when working in tight spaces. I'm just saying it's also a good pick for someone who wants to buy a tractor for entertainment and getting work done isn't primary concern. Fact is if there is no space constraint, a larger tractor will get the work done...

My 2 cents for all it's worth, is L series and larger is a 'real tractor.' 20k for a basic B series or 25k for a basic L series. LX in my mind is a basically an L as well. BX goal is to see as small as possible for small tight spaces in cities. B is more or less the same idea. Both sacrifice a...

L3901 engine powers down, stalls after running a short time

It sounds like the sensor under the seat. Check or replace that. Basically the tractor is detecting the seat for flipped while the tractor is in operation, so it shuts off as a safety feature.

About poison ivy... To kill it, I use a pole saw to cut the vine about 6-8 feet from the bottom. It's preferable to leave some bottom leaves and cut it high enough where no one will accidently bump into it while walking at the tree or riding equipment. I make sure the chainsaw clippings shoot...

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

About riding mowers... A good 'garden tractor' with a nice motor, trans, and heavy duty frame will cost you 5-9k, however you don't really need that if you just want to mow grass. An entry level riding mower from John Deere, Cub Cadet etc will do. Some examples + or minus 2k...

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

If you want a B tractor, definitely get the loader. Don't buy it without expecting to install later as it will be very expensive. Make sure it doesn't leave the dealer unless it has a loader on it. The way it works is dealers can only sell things they actually have and can deliver. They can't...

    Chipper for 3901

Wallenstein Bx52s (5 inch chip) is popular. It's build like a tank and simple design. I bought mine new for 4200, but apparently they increased price to 5k. This makes the china made rivals like woodland mills more appealing only 3k + more features including hydraulic feed. That said, my...

1.33 acres, heavily wooded and overgrown... Need advice on a tractor purchase!

Sorry I guess I missed this or it got updated later. Comments in bold... From the pictures and the description, I’d say forget about using a B or BX tractor to do the first part of your list. You need MX size or better yet skidsteer or mini ex to clean that stuff. The tractor will be very...
