    Idea for a lawn roller

I have a roller I made out of a 100# propane tank. It's...okay. However, even full of water there just isn't much weight there. I ripped out two Blue Spruce trees and of course there's not enough dirt to go back in the hole where the stumps were. I ran the tractor back and forth over it...

The Lottery - Anyone hit it?

I figure I'm $3640 ahead of the game since I have never bought a ticket. That's based on one $2 ticket per week for 35 years.

    Meat Birds

I raised them for years. Your numbers pretty much matched mine, if you provided the labor of feeding, watering, cleaning, killing, plucking, butchering, cutting, wrapping and freezing for free. It got to the point where it was more work than Mrs. PH and I wanted to do. Can't beat the quality tho.

Who else buys tools/things for the explicit reason of "Because it's too cheap to pass up"?

Thanks! I spend a lot of time fiddling with it in the Winter. Keeps me (allegedly) sane.

    Hunting and game posts

Granddaughter-in-Law took a moose this morning. She's going for a Grand Slam and took a 300 pound black bear last week. Just waiting for deer season to open, she's been successful the last 3 years running so I'd say she's got a good chance. That's her and great-granddaughter Izzy. I think...

Who else buys tools/things for the explicit reason of "Because it's too cheap to pass up"?

Sadly, no. It's largely my imagination and memories from growing up on a small farm in Michigan in the 50's and 60's. 1/64 scale. My "farm" is 4 whole acres in the middle of town...

We call that "trailer surfing". It's why my big trailer has jacks welded onto the back.

How much do you trust you kids?

I wrote up a big long post and decided it was probably unwise to put that kind of information online. Short version is that assuming the estate isn't liquidated to fund "end of life" care, it gets sold and the cash divided according to specific instructions. The estate isn't large enough to...

Lets see your weld on bucket hooks

I bolted on some welded on D-rings and a snatch hook. :) The Thumb also bolts on to my forks, hence the bolted approach. It's been very handy, and anything my B2650 can pick up hasn't put any noticeable strain on the bucket.

    Working with fiberglass .... urghhh!

Boat-building is big business here in Downeast Maine. There are a half-dozen shops within 20 miles of me, probably more if I took a census. Mostly building lobster boats, plus Hinckley over in Trenton/Bar Harbor builds yachts. I worked briefly for one of the lobster boat guys, doing general...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

We've been contemplating getting out of the layer hen habit for a while now. Finally re-homed the last of the hens to my daughter's coop Saturday and have been tearing out the chicken pen. Combination of chain link and page wire, SEVERELY overgrown with wild rose, wild raspberries, goldenrod...
