    If you need one…

Still waiting on an L4060 HSTC and LA805 loader. Now if I spend a little more I can drive to Ohio and get a JD 4044R instead. There are still some of those around. If JD had 84 month term, well, I would be heading there right now.

    B2410 Power Beyond?

So I know there is a port and a cover plate on the side of the HST, but what/where do I get to connect a PB to it? I saw some 3pt log splitters for $700, but require either a PTO pump and tank, or tractor supplied power. I want to see what the PB would cost. Can't seem to find anything on it.

    Hydro fluid preferences

This is for the backhoe only. Has a separate pump and tank. What I THOUGHT was the correct replacement filter based on the original part number, which was superseded, and that filter part number cross referenced to an AC Delco PF26, was completely wrong The thread is much smaller than the one...

    Hydro fluid preferences

Not to start a dreaded oil war, but what brand is good to use. The filter on my backhoe blew out yesterday, and I noticed the fluid is a bit milky, which lead me to believe moisture built up even though it has never had water on it, not washing, nor in rain. Must just be condensation that...

What does everyone collect or do for a hobby?

Hmm, are firearms a hobby if only 3? I got them more as a necessity than anything else. Got a CCW Ruger LC9S Pro, nice little gun that hides well, but can hit the mass above the shoulders on a snap. My other two are rifles. A Henry Evil Roy. Accurate out of the box, no tweaking of the...

Is the equipment shortage ending? Probably not, but look at this JD dealer's lot.

Seems like Skid Steers are plentiful. Can't cut or bale hay with one though. The L3560 is still there, but without a loader, apparently no one is interested.

    Pressure washing tractor?

Totally agree on hot pressure washers! I was going to get some copper tubing and wrap a coil around the chamber of a torpedo heater and make my own, then found out the kids threw it out when I told them to put it on the side. It was a perfectly functioning heater too, no rust. Those Hotsy...

    Kubota Orange Paint

I went through my paint cabinet, it WAS the Majic I used to paint it, BUT I used Valspar hardener. I think the hardener is the key to longevity. Use a good hardener and the paint will hold up longer. Years ago I repainted a Mercury Grand Marquis. It needs a little body work, some rust fixed...

    Time for greasing everything

There is one pipe I can't get tight enough. It is the one the switch is on because when tight it is at an angle that the switch won't fit, so thats where it leaks. It takes a few days to leak down enough, but if I forget and don't hear it running, it could be a week or two before I realize it...

    Almost 100 Hrs, No Regen?

When lugging the engine with hard use, like say hogging and hit a really thick patch that bogs the engine down is when the soot builds quickly with unburned fuel coating the DPF. Note there is a difference between unburned fuel and raw fuel. The unburned particles have lost their volatility and...

    Sale of tractor taxes

The buyer is the one to pay taxes, not the seller. The only time selling requires tax payments if if it is sold through a business as a manufactured good, or third party retail. If you were to make plaques and sell them as a side business, then you are obligated to paying taxes on good you...

What does everyone collect or do for a hobby?

I started RC flying in 2011 and build most of my planes. I like building more than flying for some reason. I have a nearly done Corsair with a 3 cylinder radial, problem is I can't find a pilot that fits, the scales ones are an inch too tall, and they are not cheap, so cutting ones torso down...

    Kubota Orange Paint

Valspar Tractor and Implement paint with hardener. I have a King Kutter 6' finish mower that is almost as old as my B2410, and with years of grass sitting getting wet under the cover, even though it gets cleaned periodically, was a rust bucket, really bad paint used on it. I wire brushed it...

    Almost 100 Hrs, No Regen?

Soot builds up in 2 ways, low idle speed, and working it HARD where a lot of fuel is used to maintain RPM. If you are running at high RPM with little load, such as towing a ground driven rake, then you can go a very long time before a regen is needed. If you are tilling or hogging thick weeds...

B1700 HST: overfilled transmission fluid a problem?

Usually foaming happens with low fluid levels in an HST since the parts are pretty much submerged. In a reciprocating engine too high of a level does cause foaming as the crankshaft is splashing around in the oil causing it to foam. Too much fluid though can cause seal failure, and depending...

    Pressure washing tractor?

That last one is on a plaque on our kitchen wall hanging over a big wooden spoon.

    Time for greasing everything

Totally agree! The HP ratings are claimed at BURN OUT! Basically when put to the motors limit and the windings fry is when it produces the rated power. Actual running HP is far lower than stated. I have a few woodworking tools like this with claimed high HP numbers that don't put out anywhere...

    Pressure washing tractor?

Yes, just get a gallon of RV antifreeze and suck some of it up. $3 insurance to prevent a cracked pump, and keeps it from rusting too. I have a Ryobi 3200 PSI gas PW and use a 40* tip to blast it clean, then foam cannon it, and rinse it with the 40*. The only issue I have is when I hit the...

    Time for greasing everything

I do, and a 5 HP 80 gallon compressor. Beginning to wonder if it will be cheaper to get a battery powered one every time I turn the compressor on to grease the tractor and the lights dim.

    Trailer for your tractor

If talking about finance rates, I plan to pay cash for it, or not buy it. If talking about ordering one now, I am not 100% convinced I need one yet, and have to sell my horse trailer first, but that will take a while due to the lost title. After seeing what my particular horse trailer has been...
