Who else buys tools/things for the explicit reason of "Because it's too cheap to pass up"?

I found it cost less to replace the dual clutch in my wifes Focus if I do it myself and buy the tools required. Chances of me using the clutch installation tool and clutch reset tool are slim to none, but I got them if I need them. At least the other tools I bought can be used on the farm...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

What I did to my Kubota last night, I do not recommend. Not my tractor, but my Rake. Was raking hay as night fell and had turned round to head back to the barn and didn't see that the curtain was in the weeds. Well it snagged something much stronger then the steel it is made of and bent the...

    Real (stupid) oil question

Not on oil conditions, but the Intelligent OLM will go off of engine load on the Diesel. If towing heavy it will reduce the miles before change, and if it is lightly used like in 55MPH highway use, it will extend the intervals. The oil condition is up to the owner to get sampled to verify if...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Finished up 284 bales of hay, just in time for the hot weather to roll in. I still have 3 fields left to cut, but rain is in the forecast. Discovered a groundhog hole the hard way, by nearly dumping the L4060. I swear all 4 wheels came off the ground. Time to get the AR out and do some...

National Park Service 4WD Only Trails. No AWD Allowed.

LOL I guess those with Broncos will need to stay off as well since they are also AWD vehicles unless you get the top end Tremor or Raptor or whatever they call the real 4WD model. Same with the Maverick, only one model has actual 4WD but based on the AWD technology. Guess that means I can't...

    Real (stupid) oil question

After 40 years I came to the conclusion that 3K changes were a total waste of money since the oil coming out the gas engine was not much different than what was going in. I have run Castrol GTX for decades and got 300K out of a 1979 LTD Wagon, never changed based on miles, just when I felt it...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I finally got some time to get my B2410 cleaned up and some maintenance done on it. Did the oil and filter change, as well as air and fuel and topped off the hydraulic fluid. Since my barn is full of hay it has been sitting outside and there is some nasty stuff floating around, the tractor...

    B2410 Electrical issue

I finally got around to working on this. The Dynamo is 13.8 at idle but jumps up to 40's at full. The battery is charging at 12.79 volts at full throttle. The Dynamo seem a little weak, but still charging enough. I just realized I did not test the voltage with the lights on. The battery light...

Simple fab day. Brackets for ROP lights

When I put lights similar to these on my L4060HSTC-LE I scrounged around and found 4 brackets that came off the pallet that my Laser came on. They fit perfect with NO drilling! They gave me 4 way movement of the light so I could flare them out to the sides a bit for better side coverage when...

Out of cab PTO use L4060 LE

I have been wondering about that switch though, and some day plan to test out my theory. That is a two position switch, Clutch on when sitting, pin all the way depressed. Clutch on when fully extended, seat up. In between it breaks the circuit and disables the PTO. If I were to remove the...

Simple fab day. Brackets for ROP lights

A lift is what I need. Been using Quick jacks for a few years now, but they aren't high enough for this old guy. Have my wife's Focus sitting on them now to replace the dual clutch. Not high enough to use a trans jack so have to use an engine hoist and pull it up from underneath from above.

Out of cab PTO use L4060 LE

This is the PTO switch https://messicks.com/parts/kubota/td170-47920 You flip the seat up, then engage the PTO. It mounts on the right side of the seat near the PTO controls.

    Which Kubota

Like trucks. A Super Duty has a higher margin than an F150. You rarely see incentives on a F350, but you see all kinds on the F150.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I did bale with it once ... once. I do my hay fields with my L4060-HSTC-LE now. My B2410 is relegated to moving equipment around and backhoe work if needed, maybe some finish mowing. I need to troubleshoot the electrical system, the battery light glows at idle, either dynamo or the regulator.

    Question on steering

This was my thought as well. I haven't dug into the schematics, but I believe the steering wheel doesn't actually connect to the steering gear, but via hydraulic pressure alone. Because I had my tedder behind me, it was sticking out past the center line so I had to ride close to the shoulder...

    Which Kubota

Kubota model numbers are simple really. First two numbers are the horsepower, the last two the model number. So a M6060 is a 60 HP 60 series M. An L4060 is a 40 HP L 60 series. M7060 is a 70 HP 60 series M. So based on the first two digits, you can shop based on HP. The letter designates...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Mowed 4 fields of about 15 acres, then tedded. Got another 11 hours on the tractor. Need to ted one more time, then rake and bale. Going to have a LOT of hay this cutting, Double what I got last year due to the drought. First 5 day stretch of dry weather we have had all spring.

    Question on steering

I just picked up a couple fields for hay down the road, so normally I don't go anywhere on the highway other from one drive to the other, so this was my first time out at full speed pulling my mower and tedder. What I am concerned with is that I had to constantly steer left to fight the crown...

    Flat face 3rd function issues

Now that I think about it, I might even have all the material for making one at home. I know I have a C channel, just need to see if it is wide enough, then put my plasma torch to work. OTOH I may still have my valve spring compressor, that might even work.

    Kubota’s dirty little secret!

Yet the conversation continues that it is Kubota being blamed for it.
