Kubota has a needlessly pricy option. I went to Amazon for my L5460 top link: Maxim WSB Swivel Ball Welded Cylinder - Double Acting Hydraulic Cylinder 1.5" Bore x 14" Stroke, 0.75" Pin & 1" Rod Diameter, 21.25" Retracted, 3000 PSI, 5300 lb Column Load, SAE 6 Port Size, 12 lb

    New L5460 Mods

I'm obviously new to this Forum. My Green Gear and other things got rolled over into this unit. Since I'm approaching Super Senior status, I've made a few mods. There is a true tread step mod, exterior tool box, internal grab handle, and a cup holder in a useful location. Other than that...

    Blowing snow - volume question

Great comment on shear pins. If you check the blower specs, they should say what grade bolt is required. My current JD blower specifies Grade 5. Since they are 1/4x1 inch bolts, buying a 100 pack off Amazon was the way to go along with the nylox nuts. Never go higher. If you go lower, just...

Anybody using a Baumalight or other PTO powered Generator?

Typically generators that produce more than 6% THD (total harmonic distortion) are "dirty". The inverters made by Winco, IMD, and others are brushless and produce <5% THD. Also, some like my IMD, have "Automatic Voltage Regulation" (AVR) do more to keep voltage stability, which lends itself to...

    Blowing snow - volume question

Spray: Gemplers. Make sure the surfaces are dry and the spray sets for 20 minutes before use. I've been struggling with a whopping 18hp to the front on a JD 1025R. A Grand L5460 with a 74" front blower shows up next week. Regardless, you don't want to overfeed the impeller, hence be suitably...

Here's a Picture of Price Increase for This Year

My local Kubota outfit said they announced a 6% across the board hike. At least it's not being applied to any current inventory or stuff in the pipeline Kubota didn't jack. That's why I locked in the L5460 vs. paying $3.5G more next month.

Anybody using a Baumalight or other PTO powered Generator?

No but keep it well covered. If you make a small crib out of a pallet, You can put it at perfect grab height while keeping water and mud from migrating in due to wind.

Anybody using a Baumalight or other PTO powered Generator?

Unlike gas/diesel/etc. generators, not much other than cover and put it in a garage with the rest of your tools. Everything stores better in climate controlled spaces, but most don't have them. Check the gearbox oil level every time you take it out to use. BTW, the IMDs are made in Italy and...

Anybody using a Baumalight or other PTO powered Generator?

First post so bear with me.... I've been using an IMD LLC 10KW with AVR (automatic voltage regulation) mostly to help out some nearby friends when their power is out for longer than their small Honda will support. You MUST know what you're doing with both the generator operation and the...
