Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

I pretty much went by the book using the Summit instructions way back when, but the section specific to also having a BH. I’m not certain at this point if my kit (valve parts and instructions) are even the same as the OP’s. Back up in Post#7 is a snip from the instructions I had—they seem to go...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

Dan is spot-on here (as always😁) @Dan—mine takes the T-port out of the 3rd-Function valve on over to the P-port of the FEL-valve. Then the PB port out of the FEL Valve heads over to the next spot in the loop (in the OP’s case now without the BH77, this would be the PB port at the Hydraulic Block).

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

When I’m at the tractor in the morning, I can offer to trace exactly where the output ‘P’ of my hydraulic block is going up into my FEL 525/Summit ‘in’ port. Then tell you which Port up there is used as the Tank out that heads back down to the T-port on the hydraulic block. And lastly, which...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

And to answer an earlier question, the BH77 technically didn’t have a T-port—which is why the 3point needed to be ‘down’ anytime the BH was in use (to prevent damaging the BH valves). The BH77 essentially has just an Inlet and Outlet hose, used previously in your case to insert itself as the...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

Just to be clear, when it’s all said and done, the green-marked hose shown in the pic (coming from the FEL/3rd Function PB port) should head over to the hydraulic block to its PB port (you likely originally had the BH going into that PB port before). There shouldn’t be any unused ports when...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

So this was the wording that went with the earlier pic—is this the area in question at the moment?

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

Sorry about that. In that case, you need to decide whether you’re going to keep the pre-existing backhoe hoses or not. I would recommend moving away from the two original backhoe inlet and outlet hoses for a couple reasons. They can get rubbed on by the 3-point lift arm, if not paid attention...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

When you first installed the Summit kit, which pic below did you use? (I did mine back in 2018 but had the BH and have since added Rear Remotes as well).

    Trailer Recommendation

Oh I don’t know, rocks or other small debris coming off the road—wait, that never happens. Seems like an unforced error, like say, not crossing your safety chains 🤣. Why take the chance? Just get the right trailer.

    Trailer Recommendation

I’m also not a fan of going down the road with that much of my cylinders exposed and in such a vulnerable position, but that’s likely just my OCD coming to the surface. Get a long enough trailer.

Loading and hauling a BH77 Backhoe (without the tractor)

Lifting it with the 2501 and getting it onto the trailer would likely be a struggle for the 525 FEL—the BH77 itself is gonna be closing in on 900#, plus the weight of whatever you’re using attached to the FEL—(ie. forks). At the very least, you’d be on full-rectal pucker the entire time.

    Who has a Drone? Why?

I sure hope before Mav takes the shot, he’ll be getting some sound legal advice from somebody other than some dudes in a tractor forum, even if they did stay at a Holiday Inn once. 🤣

Unfortunately the 500’ rule doesn’t seem to apply to aircraft weighing less than 55 lbs. https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-doubles-blanket-altitude-many-uas-flights

How about we call this a tie so the Daily Chuckle doesn’t get shut down and locked?—because at that point, I for one will be pissed.

    Who has a Drone? Why?

While I personally think it’s an overreach, it’s critical to note the FAA makes no distinction between say, a commercial airliner versus an unmanned aircraft. US Federal Code Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 2, Section 32 https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/32 …shall be fined under this...

Drop time for a BH77 backhoe?

What I think you’re describing wouldn’t bother me a bit, and I’ve noted drop on mine as well, yet I can still throw the back end of my 3301 around pretty good.

    Who has a Drone? Why?

In the US, recreational drone operators aren’t permitted over 400’ AGL, and FAA regulations apply just as soon as you’re in the air.

    Who has a Drone? Why?

In the US, you can fly over any (private) property (unless restricted by nearby airfields, events) all you want—but doesn’t mean you actually should (and I can easily avoid issues myself, and do). As for hovering, that’s just poor form and I certainly don’t want anyone doing that to me. ….make...
