2017 BX1870 - Busted off the Hydraulic Oil Filter Stud...:-(

I deleted my earlier post after reading it over a few times I've come to the realization that this nipple/ part # is for the engine oil filter. Sorry for steering everyone wrong. As for seeing the fix it's been a few years ago and I can't seem to find the original post that I had read up on how...

PTO Driven log splitter vs. stand alone L3902HST

Well I used to run my home built splitter off my tractors hyd system. MF 175 . It worked okay but every time I wanted to run the splitter ,well I had to get the tractor out hook everything up etc: I had access to a older 410 MF combine that I was able to remove the hyd oil tank and hyd pump...

55 hours on BX1870 and overheating

Check the old thermostat first and see what it does. Could need a good flush cleaning like you mentioned . I use my tractor lots year round and have never had it go above 2 bars. Even in the winter I slip in a piece of carboard between the rad and the screen with a 4" round opening in the...

55 hours on BX1870 and overheating

If your cleaning it like your saying then I take back what I said. Guess next would be remove the thermostat install a new one and see what happens. On a side note once you have the old one out test it in hot water to see if it opens this way you'll know for sure it's faulty

55 hours on BX1870 and overheating

Seeing that there's a mouse nest on the top of the rad tells me just how often it gets service. Sorry but ant tractor mowing grass needs to have the rad cleaned regular. I mow with my BX 2370-1 plus use it for everything else loader work ,snowblowing etc:. I only have 1984 hrs on mine and have...

Feel the hoses and see if there hot on both sides of the valve. Possible with no flow through the line for 2 yrs that there's air in the line somewhere before the heater core.

Whats the coldest temps outside you will run your Kubota?

My BX sits in heated shop so no problems starting without glow plugs. Once outside well me in the homemade cab stays warm enough that no need for gloves or head gear. Cardboard in front of rad as well with 4-5" dia hole. Been blowing snow in -35 c plus windchill and Its been good.

    B2782B snowblower

Check to see if the brg/ bushing is worn on the side of the auger that keeps shearing . Could be that the auger is making contact with the blower housing either due to a dent or possibly getting gravel caught between the auger and blower housing.

    Camera on snowblower

I doubt it would work especially in heavy wet snow the camera would get covered in snow. I have a camera mounted on front of my side x side and when water splashes onto it you can't see anything again untill you wipe it off.

    Coolant leak at startup

If what was mentioned above solves your problem good. If not then remove the hose and clean both surfaces . Overtime it will create a White /greenish/blueish film between the hose and housing . Of course this is why you have a leak due to buildup of scale.

    Maintenance on a BX2822 Snowblower

One thing that I like is all the grease fittings on your blower. Always nice to see some ones posts of some of the struggles and then of course the fix / final outcome. Enjoy your blower when the time comes to use it. Happy snow blowing.

BX5450 Snow Blower Drive Chain Problem

Looking at the end of the shaft looks like it's been hammered on and mushroomed the end of the shaft. From what I can see your going to first have to get rid of that burred end. If you can just leave the sprocket on this way you won't be grinding the shaft where its not needed to be. Either...

    BX2822a 55” front snowblower

Mine isn't the same blower as yours but when I change oil [every spring ] the blower is off the tractor so I tip it up and over so the drain plug is straight down . Reason for spring time drain is after season use this way if any moisture in the oil will be drained out . I also repair any issues...

    BX2380 missing parts

What those extra holes are for is when you have the Kubota rear bagger . There is a plate that bolts on that side that diverts the grass more towards the back of the opening .

BX1850D: Needing some guidance in replacing forward propeller shaft oil seal

Very simple . Make a small hole in the face of the seal with a pick or something simliar. Get a wood or metal screw and screw it into the seal and pull it out with vice grips. [ don't screw the screw in to deep as to make contact with the brg behind ] See attached pic.

    Rear chains on a BX

Use chains on my BX 2370-1 for the last 7 winters. The chains I use are old Semi truck chains that I made fit onto my BX. I do use a 1/2" wide wheel spacer. Being that there only 1/2" wide I'm still able to use the oem studs and bolts ,there is just enough threads to do this . Using them gives...
