What your calling gravel road looks to me is actually chip&seal which is a step down from asphalt. So going over it with a box blade or front loader will actually make it much worse. I agree with filling pot holes with 3/4” minus

Like others have said it’s a bugger to pull out, if you keep the O ring wet with oil it helps to remove it. You can get tough with it you won’t break it

I agree reverse takes a lot of pressure but I’m wondering if removing the spring would cause an issue with going or staying in neutral? If you do it please post the results.
