    Sale of tractor taxes

Fake news.... Just the opposite. I'm 69. After age 65, most medications are covered under government plans (for seniors), at least in some provinces (not sure about others). Free hospital is regardless of age. My mother was in her 90's and was in and out of hospital a few times in her last...

    Sale of tractor taxes

Well, yes, we pay a lot more in taxes in Canada, but some things are free via the government that grabs all that money. My person experience is I spent 3 weeks in December in hospital due to Sepsis. Cost to me, zero, nada, $0. (well, I had to pay $45 for an ambulance ride). No special insurance...

GR2120 snowblower making a grinding noise when engaged

The fan blade on the far right seems to be bent outwards. I had that happen once when I caught a rock, bend the fan blade right out until it hit the housing shroud. Bending the blade back fixed it, for now.

Source for Odd Size Rocker Switches?

The hole size is larger than most rocker switches. I did find one that needs a 44mm x 22mm hole, a L21D1S001-AZZ00-000 by Carling Technologies. https://www.carlingtech.com/sites/default/files/documents/L-Series_Details_%26_COS_111213.pdf It is a DPST, but you can use just one pole. I don't...

    B2782 shear bolts

Not the same as B2750, but: Shear bolts on the bx2750 vary by model. The 2750C and original 2750D used the grooved grade 8 bolt for the fan shear bolt, through the drive shaft. The newer 2750D (serial #21219365 and up) now used a standard grade 5 x 1/4" bolt for the fan, by using a flange on...

    B2782 shear bolts

TbayOrange, not sure where you can find Grade 5 stainless. The most common, hardest stainless is 304 grade, which is about half the shear strength of a standatd Grade 5 bolt. I generally treat all stainless bolts as Grade 2 equivalent. Also, stainless will deform more before it breaks, compared...

    My BX2750D snowblower modification

Hi xwild. Wheels have been working ok for the past few years. Still, with first snowfall, wheels still roll into the gravel a bit, but not any worse than the skids did. With a small base, and some gravel, wheels rotate ok, and keep the blower above the base. I usually set blower edge to around...

another hydraulic control for a snow blower chute question for a BX5450

I have a BX25 with a front blower. The hoses in the picture are correct (except maybe reversed for directions). The FEL valve has to be pushed all the way to the right, past the indent, to make the chute rotate the other direction. Been using it that way for years now. Up/Down for the front...

    Ford Lightning all Electric Truck

There is supposed to be a 32A and/or 48A charger for homeowners for slower charging rates. But, I think you need the 80A if using the truck as a 9.6kW generator, not sure. Too many "ifs"...

    LED Light Strips

Looking at the picture, between the scissor cut marks there are 3 LEDs and one resistor. That suggests the three LEDs are in series. Depending on the color, the voltage drops could be 3x1.8V = 5.4V for red, all the way up to 3 x 3.1V = 9.3V for some blue or white LEDs. The resistor would be...

    LED Light Strips

Resistor values determine the current flow through the LEDs. Some LEDs may be single and have a higher resistor value. Some LED strips may put 2 or 3 LEDs in series and thus the resistor will be a smaller value. Each LED has a voltage drop across it. Some as low as 1.8V, like red LEDs. Others...

    New Laptop - setup questions

Windows defender is "reasonable" for Win10. You can look at other vendors if you wish. I've used Avast, Avira, AVG and Kaspersky. All have been reasonably good as well, including the free versions. McAfee and Norton (especially Norton) seem to be heavy resource hogs. What most people miss for...

    New Laptop - setup questions

In my "humble" opinion, the "cloud" is about as useful as teats on a bull. You are relying on the Internet to be good, and always there. In other words, you are putting your trust in the Internet infrastructure and Microsoft. Let alone the license agreements that allow MS to read/view everything...

    How good is alternate energy?

I don't know where dirtydeed lives in Canada, but my off peak hydro rate is 8.5 cent/kwh. Using his math, that it $1.36CAD to charge a 16kwh battery overnight (about $1.00 USD). Divide that by his 25 mile example, and it would cost 5.4 cents CAD per mile, compared to 10 cents/mile with a gas car...
