    Hydraulic top link question

Dan, Is there a particular valve you are suggesting to use for this? I have been thinking about adding something to mine. I have already teed the outputs of my 3rd function lines to the back to angle a back blade but wanting to do top and tilt too. Thanks, Bill

    Grapple does not close sometimes

While not the same setup I had some couplings I bought last year that I installed on a set up on my 8n. One of them out of the box just wouldn't pass fluid. The cylinder would extend some but not go back. It was a real pain until I figured out which one and once replacing it no problem extending...

Brand new kubota L4701, knocking and pouring out white smoke from exhaust.

After hearing the no ballast if you have a backhoe it looked at my manual too. Found the part saying that and I am stumped why my dealer put it in the sale except maybe the extra $400 charge? I know from a year of using it it would be near useless backing up even a gentle slope with a full...

    Crank seized B7100D

On the 60's car you could have dropped a metal shield and possibly seen the clutch damage early on. These tractors need some kind of inspection hole or access. It could have saved the OP a ton of time. Bill

What to do when Dealer Relations go bad????

On the subject of motorcycles and manufacturers, As a good example of the Peter Principle, I knew this guy when he worked for Albany International in Homer NY. Somehow he wound up CEO of Harley Davidson. He couldn't excel as an Engineer at Albany but kept moving up and around until he resigned...

    Kubota Tractor Over Charge Problem

I was thinking it was 3ph ac too. Up wards of 400 hertz and is changed to dc by the 6 diodes in the diode pack in the alternator. Isn't the out put controlled by the excitation voltage from the regulator thru the slip ring brushes? It has been a while for me, I might have some of this wrong.

    Weight of filled tires?

Are you concerned about handling them? I just installed a set of those on my L2501 with the R14 so they should be about the same weight. I asked here and was able to do it by myself. They were not bad at all to keep upright and roll forward. I am 68 and not as strong as I used to be so I asked...

    Watch your ROPS

I have been driving the 8N under the apple trees on the lawn since I planted them 20 odd years ago. Last fall I took the kubota thru the same path only to get surprised by the shower of apples from a loaded branch. No damage but now an awareness of the ROPS for sure! Bill

    What were the engineers thinking?

Thanks for sharing your story Lugbolt, Reminds me of some of the fun times in my work and at home. One in particular was a broken off bolt in a transmission mount on my Gremlin of all the cars you could have, It was of course in aluminum and I was working in the driveway with only ramps. I...

    Sub Panel wiring question

I added a 100a service to separate garage I built 120' away. That was 19 years ago and no additional ground rods just separate ground and neutral bars as a sub feed panel and inspected when I completed. I run welder compressor, lift lots of lights etc. Never notice lights dimming when compressor...

    New B2301 - Rust?

I bought mine just about a year ago. It has similar rust and I figured it was because up until I got it, it had been outside somewhere. It is a DT model and since most want the HST it could have been quite a while. The 3pt balls were stuck tight, I would have thought dealer would have caught...

    Preventing hydraulic rust

Well at 68 an 8 oz can should last me a few years. Not doing nearly all the mechanical stuff I used to as the vehicles only get a fraction of the miles since retirement. I see amazon and mcmaster have it and a lot of ebay places but my wife loves amazon so i will have her get some! thanks...

    Preventing hydraulic rust

While it is sold to displace moisture I always would see rust a few days after using around machinery in my teens. I belonged to a hunting club in my 40's and there was a can by the gun rack there one guy using it on his every time he went out deer hunting. I told him about my experience saying...

    Preventing hydraulic rust

I don't use nor have I bought WD-40 in the last 50 years. Fluid film or as you say LPS. I knew someone who would use WD-40 on his firearms and wouldn't listen.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I think about 8" here too. Last night when I took the dogs out at 9:30 it was spitting some sort of rain sleet. This has been my worst year of plowing in 27 years. Partially because of the coarseness of the stone I put down last year but heavy snow after a thaw cycle over and over. If it wasn't...
