One thing to think of is whether you will want/ need a mid PTO. If not then maybe don't pay for a model that has one. That was the sole reason I went from a B to an L. Also, would you benefit from a BH? The B26 TLB might serve better. I know I just opened up another rabbit hole......

Definitely not in general. As I said, it depends on if you do a lot of woods work. A field or material yard machine wouldn't ever have a problem. If you go bounding through the woodland it's probably not a good idea. Even so, there is a lot of stuff on the underbelly that could also get damaged...

Yup. 12 o'clock it and let it run. Depending on how low it is, the inflator may overheat though. I know my Viair says 3 min on/ 3 min off or some such thing. There are models rated for constant duty though.

A 5 or 7 ton is good for making fire pit wood. I've used a Hazard Freight one on Oak up to 10". It's not a fast process. So of you have trees to get rid of its not the right tool. If you want to make some firewood it could work.
