A standard detent does neither of those, it detents into a position and stays there, regardless of pressure or flow. They are covered in the video I posted. Maybe I’m more familiar with them because my hydraulic experience is from an industrial background, and not agricultural.

Just my .02, but I think you will be happier with the “ag tread” on the Goodyear than you will be with the “industrial tread” on the Camso.

Why not just put a simple on-off valve on the capped off power beyond port of the existing valve?

Do standard detent valves operate in this manor? I thought only pressure release detent valves acted in this manor.

Looking back at the rear PTO diagram, the rear PTO shaft drive gear (gear 090) is supported by bearings on both sides, so gear 040 on the mid PTO doesn’t support it. It does however appear the rear PTO oil seal (080) is much more of a PITA to replace.

That is THE drain plug for the HST. Mid PTO is the lowest point of the transmission. Without it, changing HST oil would require removal, or at the least loosening of, the cover plate. Drilling and tapping a hole is not a big deal lol.
