Picture of your tractor on your trailer

Fried, I still have the 7K gvw tandem axle flat bed that I bought back in 1992 for $2,000. I guess it probably went up in value also...especially with the new tires, deck, lighting and breakaway system I put on it this past year. Upgrading the size of one's tractor has downstream...

Picture of your tractor on your trailer

True that! Except MAYBE the deck height, there really is no down side to a deck over. I would love to have that trailer, but I just cannot justify the cost based on how much use it would see. Doug

Picture of your tractor on your trailer

I wish this was my trailer. I have been meaning to post to this thread for a while. I rented this when I brought the L48 home a couple of years ago or so. It is a power tilt deck over, 14K gvw. It towed down the freeway and on the side roads nicely. The old F-350 enjoyed the work out...

    Front axle pivot maintenance question

A couple of days ago I was greasing the L48. When I got to the from axle pivot grease fitting, I stopped to get a wrench to remove the vent plug. It is a 7mm square pipe plug, I guess. Unfortunately, when I tried to loosen plug, it felt like the open end wrench was going to slip and round off...

    Front axle pivot maintenance question

My L48 has the same setup, breather plug on the front, none on the rear. I am just going to say the front breather is the only breather. Maybe open it before greasing the rear and then grease the front?

    Any other f series owners?

There is a hydraulic cylinder that actuates the steering (located on the right rear of the machine, I presume powered by the pump that operates the deck lift? The steering is not nearly as easy as L48 steering.

    Any other f series owners?

I bought an F3060 with a 72" rear discharge deck a little less than a year ago. Has around 2000 hours. I had the deck driveshaft rebuilt, overhauled a couple of the deck spindles and replaced all fluids. The only real out of the ordinary problem I had was the steering tube support structure...

    L48TLB Transmission/Hydro Service

Lugbolt, Thanks for the response. I appreciate it. Last week I changed the hydro fluid in my F3060 and cleaned the screen. There was nothing in the way on that machine. Anyway, now that you mention it, that screen did have some flex to it. Do you remember removing the spring? To me, it...

    L48TLB Transmission/Hydro Service

I have spent a lot of time tonight searching on the subject. I have a relatively new to me 2000 hour machine that was bought with all new filters. I have no idea of the status of the hydraulic fluid. I pulled a fluid sample for analysis, but have yet to receive the results. If the fluid is in...
