This is the area I'm interested in. It may just be a wet spot.

Edit: nevermind, 3074 is what I was interested in, looks ok.
Yes, it rained this morning.
I took several pictures before reading the post—there can never be too many photos for future reference.
I captured various angles for you to see.

Yes, I think what looked odd about it at first was just some water sitting in it.

As for the new/used parts, I would not be overly concerned. If they rebuilt the spindle, then the outer casing part would be old with new internals like shaft and bearings. It would not be unheard of the reuse the old spindle pulley either.

I can't recall what you said the original agreement was, and if they charged you for a new pulley specifically, then yes, a dispute may be in order. But review your bill carefully to see exactly what was charged.

You are right. I thought it was supposed to be a new pulley, bolt, and washer, but it turned out to be used parts, including four bolts, yet they charged me as if they were new. I believe they billed $10 for the bolt and $5 for the washer, similar to before, with the total coming to $36x.xx. I removed the bill from the bag that had the old shaft and belt, and if I can’t find it, I’ll have to ask them to email it to me. Should I dispute the charges or also file a complaint with the BBB and Attorney General? This might damage my relationship with them, but they should be honest when using old parts while charging new part prices. The only new thing is "One Blade"

What else is there besides what I discovered above?
I think there was a misunderstanding somewhere. I posted in post 120 that a complete new spindle cost over $600, and that didn't include labor or pulley, as I recall. So, if it is repaired correctly, and it appears it is, for $300-400 I think you came out well.

After you've run it some you may want to retighten the nuts on top and bottom. Remember, the ones on the left are left-hand thread.

Here are close-up shots of the cracks: three photos of the bottom sides and two of the top side, which is a bit tricky to capture.
If it was me and I saw those cracks on my deck, I would get them welded by a professional welder before putting the deck back on. I think if you leave them as is, they will cause more trouble in the future.

I am assuming the cracks are near some support or pulley that will continue and eventually rip out of the deck.

But the deck looks good otherwise.
