Very very good eye. Excellent observation!Looks like there's a smaller one in the bunch?
I was wondering if someone was going to catch that detail in the picture.

The length was determined by the hard lines; How did you determine the length of the drain tube before welding on the fitting?
Going by the picture it looks like it sticks out a bit. It does appear to result in good clearance between the engine components and the frame.
I may have to have this shiny new piece.![]()
On both the L2501 and L3240 the factory dipstick tube located on the right side of the engine (when an operator is seated) remains in its original location, unmolested and using the oil level indicator remains unchanged. For the Turbo Kit installation, you remove a plug located on the left side of the engine, opposite of the factory dipstick tube (when an operator is seated) and install the Turbo Oil Drain. It's a clean, convenient setup.I know curiosity killed the cat, but I have to ask the question.
If the engine oil dipstick tube is now used for the turbo drain hose, how would a tractor owner check the engine oil level after the upgrade?
I just bought and installed this turbo (L2501) and I just can't give it enough praise. I'm at close to 7000' elevation and this is an entirely different tractor now. It pulls 2 gears higher and just sounds much happier. But what I really can't say enough about is the quality and craftsmanship of the turbo kit. It bolts right up and no corners were cut with anything (high quality components) which is refreshing and nice to work with. I believe that I received the new kit with the Kubota turbo. Thanks for bringing this to the market, it is an amazing option to have.Innovation is inevitable. And we’re making BIG changes to the S2T Performance L2501 and L3240 Turbo Kits and our future Tractor Turbo Kits, not yet released.
We are excited to announce that we are discontinuing the venerable MHI TD025 Turbocharger and officially replacing it with either an OEM Kubota IHI RHF3 or, OEM Kubota MHI TD03 Turbocharger.
The IHI RHF3 / MHI TD03 Turbochargers are interchangeable. They are the same Turbocharger built to identical specifications. They are both ultra-compact, quick spooling Turbochargers used in small displacement 0.6L to 1.9L diesel engines. These mighty Turbochargers are commonly found in a variety of OEM agricultural and commercial equipment across many manufacturers, including Kubota.
When compared against the MHI TD025, the RHF3 / TD03 Turbocharger features quick-spool characteristics, along with higher air volume and lower boost PSI. Even with lower boost PSI, the RHF3 / TD03 Turbocharger easily matches the TD025’s maximum performance at high boost PSI, but with the added benefit of much lower Intake Air Temperatures (IAT’s). That’s improved Turbocharger efficiency at work folks! Plus, the new, larger Turbo offers a greater ceiling for high elevation performance without sacrificing sea level power output, whatsoever. It’s a win, win, solution!
During our extensive development process we have not found any compromises with the new, larger RHF3 / TD03 Turbocharger. However, it is worth noting that Turbo spool time has increased slightly as you would expect with a larger Turbo. This new Turbocharger improves our production and manufacturing efficiency and they are much easier for us to source through our multiple vendors and dealers. The RHF3 / TD03 Turbocharger excels in overall performance potential, especially in high altitude environments and they will not increase the cost of the Turbo Kits. Woohoo!!!
We made this BIG change for three reasons;
Availability -
Since we began selling Tractor Turbo Kits, every year we have ran into availability shortages with the MHI TD025 Turbocharger, even with an abundance of vendors and dealers! These availability issues have caused massive delays and extended lead times for our Turbo Kits which were frustrating for both us and our customers. At times, we were even having to purchase Turbocharger inventory from unfamiliar overseas suppliers just to meet demands.
We genuinely do not anticipate those same availability issues with the new RHF3 / TD03 Turbochargers because these Turbos are used on a much broader range of tractor models and they are much easier for us to source from our typical vendors and dealers here in the United States. The new RHF3 / TD03 Turbocharger will, without a doubt, improve our lead times moving forward.
A very welcome remedy!

Manufacturing -
Our expertly executed MHI TD025 Turbocharger exhaust outlet flange, although beautifully crafted, was a very difficult and time consuming part for us to manufacture. Conversely, the RHF3 / TD03’s outlet flange is without question, a superior design and doesn’t require extensive custom fabrication and hardware. Our new RHF3 / TD03 outlet flange mimics the appearance of the OEM Kubota cast design, however, our component is two-piece, cut from thick 304 stainless steel, where we then utilize laser cutting technology and CNC machining, along with expert welding techniques to create a simple, albeit, very efficient, high flowing Turbo exhaust outlet. This new flange has vastly reduced manufacturing time and associated production costs.

Additionally, we had to redesign the Turbo adapter pipe since the new, larger RHF3 / TD03 Turbocharger required us to move the Turbo forward of its original position. A fantastic consequence of the new adapter pipe and the larger RHF3 / TD03 Turbocharger is being able to use the same tubing size throughout the entire Turbo system. As a direct result, air flow has been optimized to maximize volume and maintain velocity therefore improving overall engine performance in all operating conditions.

High elevation -
The driving force behind this upgrade wasn’t only to improve Turbocharger availability and manufacturing efficiency but, to give our high elevation tractor operators more flexibility to increase power output in extreme environments.
Simply put, we had maxed out the high altitude performance of the MHI TD025 Turbocharger. The TD025 was frankly running out of boost, volume and efficiency at higher elevations. The new, larger RHF3 / TD03 Turbo offers a higher level of performance potential at factory boost levels and even greater performance when boost levels are increased with an adjustable wastegate actuator. To this end, we are currently testing and evaluating aftermarket wastegate systems as a potential future option for our Turbo Kits. High elevation tractor operation is no longer a concern. The solution has arrived!

In closing, the MHI TD025 wasn’t the wrong choice for our Turbo Kits. At the time that decision was made it was impossible to predict availability shortages, the popularity of our Turbo Kits and the manufacturing challenges that we would encounter with the TD025 Turbocharger, nor the limits of its high elevation performance. Innovation comes with time and experience and we are thrilled to have the IHI RHF3 / MHI TD03 now powering our Turbo Kits!
There you have it folks. That’s the BIG news. The Tractor Turbo Kits are back. They are vastly improved, on sale now, and are now more capable of meeting your power needs in any operating condition and environment.

Hey Steve, we greatly appreciate the accolades and feedback on the Turbo Kit and your tractor's newfound performance! Thank you! We're thrilled that the Turbo Kit has met (perhaps exceeded) your expectations! Thanks again for your post and we're very happy we are able to bring this product to you and other tractor owners!I just bought and installed this turbo (L2501) and I just can't give it enough praise. I'm at close to 7000' elevation and this is an entirely different tractor now. It pulls 2 gears higher and just sounds much happier.
