Drama free coolant flush and fill on the tractor. I used a fat washer and pliers to turn out the radiator drain plug. Pretty dumb idea for a drain plug. I can see many folks snapping them off. 👎

Mine snapped off too when I barely touched it. Made a replacement from brass instead of buying another plastic plug from Kubota.

Power washed the BX and the JD today, before it gets evil hot for the next 5 or 6 days. The deck is next on the schedule to get power washed.

My Hanix mini ex used exactly the same radiator drain that broke in exactly the same way.
Wish I had thought to make a brass replacement before I put another plastic one in. DOH!

You can still do that before the plastic plug breaks. May still save you time. I had to take the radiator out to get the broken off piece out.

Mine is a little different style.. a thick flat washer stuck into the slot and turned with a pair of pliers did the trick...no breaky lol

I'm probably going to regret this. But getting 12 yards of top soil delivered today. Impossible to get the dump where it needs to go so I am having it dumped in my driveway turn around. I placed that tarps which is probably gonna make it hard to scoop up the dirt but it's better than creating a mess I guess.

And of course I get the call they are coming today when there is like 50mph wind gusts. You should have seen me trying to layout these tarps, ended up just parking the tractor on it!

Hopefully it won't be a huge issue. It looks kinda stupid but I just don't have any other reasonable location in such short notice so it's gonna have to do. I don't care about these tarps anyways, I'm sure they'll get destroyed.

My pond levee had gotten out of control with volunteer Bald Cypress sprouts/saplings.

IMG_0501.JPG

That is until the Kubota KXO 40 mini-excavator started pulling them up. That thumb is awesome.

IMG_0502.JPG

Big difference. That tree line/power line is about 30 yards beyond the foot of the levee.

IMG_0504.JPG

Almost finished. Those two "mother" trees on the left that are dropping the cones/seed will also disappear along with that last sapling on the right of the pier. Cypress trees seemed like a good idea, but it wasn't. No more Cypress for me!!

I've had this load of wood on the trailer since mid April so it is past time to work it up so I can use the trailer for something else. I started on it the other day.

Over the winter I made the left hand stakes so they would fold down and built the cutting table. This is the first time I used them together.

It started out warm and cloudy but when the sun came out it seemed like a good time to stop.

Just for fun I used my 47 year old HomeLite Super XL that I bought new in 1978.

Today was cool (63*) and windy with a slight drizzle at times. Nice weather to get it finished up before coffee time.

Just got the 12 yards of dirt delivered. I decided to play with the tractor and picked up a full scoop and yeah it felt light in the rear. I decided to put the weight box on and fill it up with concrete blocks I have laying around. What a HUGE difference it made, the tractor felt so much more stable and planted. I think I wanna fill it full of cement and use a lot more when doing loader work, I like the size of it. Not too big in the back to get in the way and doesn't take up space in the garage. Glad I kept it!!

Destructed a retaining wall. We will build it back with a different design tomorrow. It was originally built without tractor a few years ago and too close to our bush. Some critter liked to burrow in it close to the bush which made it hard on the bush. The dogs dug for them.

It was about 3 hours to destruct with tractor help. I assume it would be a few more days at least without the tractor if we didn't tire out first. ;)

Happy to have the tractor, again.

I changed blades on the BX, and mow hay in the front yard,, I sure hope it dry's out so I can mow in the orchard. Some trees are already showing sings of drowning , some of the old trees have lost all their leaves
