Ok I've made a change here to try and narrow down the source. Could someone who was seeing this before, who currently does not have an ad blocker installed (ie. ads would show if present) let me know if they are able to reproduce this issue still or if it looks to be resolved?

Thank you! OTT does indeed generate recurring monthly and yearly costs for all sorts of stuff (servers, support, legal, anti-spam, licenses, accounting) so every bit helps and is appreciated. All good on that front! We have enough of those at the moment but thank you for giving that some thought.

Yep, these ones weren't respecting robots.txt and there were 100s of them at once. Bad bots!

Ok think the main issue here was a bunch of crawler bots on the site (100s of them) that were slowing things down for everyone else. I booted them off/blocked them and then updated the server hardware a bit to better protect in the future.

Hmmmm - site shouldn't be slow. I'll dig in and report back if I find anything.
