The Humane Society has been using this old Kubota 5030 to spread manure and haul fenciing, etc. But has never used the hydraulics. Now they have an old Perfect W rotary mower with a swing arm that can cut under 4-board fences, but it has a hydraulic arm. So now I am trying to make the hydraulics...

The question then is something like, "What angle works ok for a seatbelt? How far behind? How far below?" And such.

Thanks for all the expertise and concern, folks. I will check those bolts and see what they are, and replace as necessary. Small price to pay to getting it right.

Well, MacGyver works at the dealership, then. They are the ones that installed that seat. But those two bolts are the ones I am considering as well.

Here is a picture of that tractor and its new seat. I did call the dealer, talked to service person, but he was no help at all. I can't imagine that Kubota in 1990 would have sold a tractor with a ROPS and no seatbelt. But I don't see any obvious candidates for bolt locations.

Hmm, let me ponder that. Interesting idea. We have a smaller, local airport here, but I don't know anyone personally. Also, I wonder if those would be long enough?

Thanks all. I will check that out. Looking at the tractor itself, I don't see an obvious place to bolt it. There are lots of existing bolts to choose from, but not conveniently placed holes waiting for a bolt. Does look like they may have never been a seat belt. That diagram looks like it...

The land (30 acres) is rolling, but not hilly. Not sure that matters though. If you have a ROPS, you need a seatbelt. Especially for a non-profit organization.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, it does have a ROPS. I can't tell if it was added or original. But being the model it is, built in the 90s, I would think both the ROPS and a seatbelt would have been standard. So now, I either remove the ROPS or add seatbelts. Is that the reality? And what...
