New Tank For My Quincy QT-5 Compressor

If you look at the last picture in my first post, you can see it attached to the drain line. It automatically opens for 4 seconds every time the pump turns on.

New Tank For My Quincy QT-5 Compressor

As an added note, I did set the old tank out at the road on a Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning it was gone.

Got to see the Big Boy today.

It amazes me how many people are interested in seeing that piece of history.

Got to see the Big Boy today.

Loaded up some friends in the Suburban this afternoon to see the Big Boy on it's tour headed to the east coast for the 4th of July. It stopped near Argos, IN, and I knew it was going to be a zoo there because they had been promoting it on the local TV and radio stations, and I knew where it...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I gave the BX and the JD430 their spring baths with the power washer. The BX gets pretty dusty from mowing in the summer, and the JD gets dirty from blowing snow, sod and gravel in the winter.

    BX 2230 Starting Problem Solved

The battery is a couple of years old and load tested fine last fall with an old school carbon pile tester. I have a voltmeter connected to the main ignition feed, that shows about 10.5 volts while cranking, the same as what I observed at the starter post.

    BX 2230 Starting Problem Solved

For the last 3 or 4 years, I have had intermittent starting problems with my BX. It started with the original starter that would engage the solenoid, pushing the pinion out, but the starter motor wouldn't spin. Usually, a tap on the case with a long punch, would make it engage and start the...

    4 foot LED'S

Last year I replaced all the bulbs in my nine 8 foot fixtures in the shop with LEDs. I pulled out the ballasts, cleaned up the fixtures and rewired the fixtures for the LED bulbs. It was a great upgrade, lots more light with 25% of the power consumption. I had a mix of single pin and rectangular...

New Tank For My Quincy QT-5 Compressor

Late Wednesday, Amazon delivered the rubber pads for the compressor feet to set on. They're 4" X 4" X 1 1/4", made of hard rubber with a 1/2" hole in the center. I used a 1 1/2" Forstner bit to cut a countersunk area on the bottoms so the attaching bolts and a washer didn't rest on the floor...

New Tank For My Quincy QT-5 Compressor

I might set the tank out at the road for someone to use to make a smoker. Whoever wants it is going to need help to load it, as it probably weighs ~200lbs or more.

New Tank For My Quincy QT-5 Compressor

A couple of weeks ago, I heard an air leak around my compressor, and I discovered it had a hole rusted through the bottom of the tank. No one will repair an air tank in my area, so I called the local Quincy dealer to order a replacement. Since my unit is from the early 90s, a replacement isn't...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

O bought a replacement seat at Rural King a few years ago (2019), and with a couple of 3" spacers and some 1/4" X 2" flat stock, adapted it to my BX seat mount. Very comfortable and arm rests too, I bought an extra seat and put it on a friends BX too. Picture was before I put the armrests on.

Going back to the good ole days

A 4BT would be way to big to fit in a BX, would probably weigh as much as the rest of the tractor.
