Had an alternator on my M6800 go bad a couple years ago. Had my local alternator repair shop check it out, he could not rebuild it. He got a new one--cost about the same as Kubota provided parts. Good luck.

I have a BX 1880 w 54 inch mower. Wife loves it. Great for yard and around the barn and out buildings.

I can't say it is your problem, but I once had an older BX that blew a plug (similar to a freeze plug) on the tranny. I found it and was able to pop it back in with some sealant added. Good luck
