Hey all.... It was suggested I disassemble and clean the relief cartridge on the Kubota B2410/Husco 9210-B1A D02 FEL control valve... Here are the results and a recap of what it is doing.

Tom… I disassembled the relief valve on the Husco as suggested. No obstruction or debris was indicated anywhere. I thoroughly cleaned the relief cartridge components and reassembled. I still have the issue on the bucket raising side of the control valve.

The control valve works wonderfully in the bucket lowering and float. As I push the lever up the lowers throughout the travel of the lever from the neutral position up to and including the float indent lock.:)

When I raise the bucket by pulling the lever back from the neutral position the bucket raises normally only in the first 1/3 of the lever’s pull back travel. Once I pass that point to through full lever pull back travel the bucket does nothing…. It remains at the raised height it was in when the lever was pulled back beyond the 1/3 travel distance from neutral.:(

I am fairly certain the issue is in the valve because I have another Husco control valve off a Kubota of unknown size and the bucket works in all positions. The reason I am reluctant to use this valve unit is because it has no Main Relief Cartridge and the last thing I want to do is over pressurize my system as this may have caused the failure of the Main Delivery line from the Hydro pump to the rest os the tractor. A leak developed at the brazed joint on the loader supply/power through block. Never in a million years would I have suspected a leak there. But it did and it is fixed.

I am thinking the issue in my valve lies in the spool somewhere.

Any suggestions? I am scratching my head on this one…..

Butch

PS…. I took my valve to Beilers Hydraulics in Southern PA where they bench tested it. They said it was fine so I am assuming the issue is when the spool is under way with the resistance of lifting the bucket.

Vic... it worked fine for 3 years until my grandson was playing with the blade. I almost fainted when I found out... my son, his dad almost got a but kick'n over that.

From what I gather he was moving the lever up and down really fast (raise/lower blade)... that's when it went on the fritz.

Could he have broken something in the spool housing? The only issue that I am having is what was stated in my long winded description... otherwise everything is perfect.

Ok Butch, I'm definitely no Vic and that guy knows his tractors.

But you did ask for any suggestions so I read your post again, several times to be exact.

Pull back on the lift lever and find the EXACT point that the bucket stops responding. Slightly move the lever forward again a bit, back into the "good" range. Mark the location, this is very important.

Get a nice piece of wood and trim to fit if you need. Place the piece of wood behind the lever at the location you marked earlier and duct tape it down :D

See there, that's what friends are for. I'm glad to have been of help!

I watch the Red Green Show and every so often pick up some pretty useful tips

Hay bailing wire and duct tape (a.k.a. West Virginia chrome) are staples in my tool box. Scott your suggestion could be my plan B:).

A couple of the guys I worked with have access to a really powerful X-ray.... no kidding. We used it to peer inside of cannisters that held old WWII munitions to see if they contained what could be real nasty liquids along with the fuze and burster. They suggested I take the valve to them to scope out the innards of the valve seeing as I do have a cut away drawing of what the inside looks like. It would be a piece of cake for them.

Seems like a lot of trouble to me...

Thanks Scott .... I owe you one:rolleyes:

LOL's :D West Virginia chrome! That was FUNNY :D:D
Well probably not to our brothers in West Virginia  But it is to me :p

I have lived up and down the coast of California. I have traveled this country and been around the world (thanks Army). So I can say that since I have taken quite a bashing with California jokes over the years I have earned the right to get a laugh out of that one

As far as the X-ray, that sounds pretty cool. Hard to believe you can see in the connisters and see what kinda liquids are in there. Seems like a scary thing to be around when it's zapp'n something

Just remember you got that good Plan B if you need. I guarentee it aint gonna let you down

Scott,,, the x-ray cannot tell you what the actual liquid is...just that it is present. Given the stuff we were working with anytime we saw the presence of liquid the pucker factor went up by several orders of magnitude. And yes... whe the films are taken we were a Looooong way removed from the area. It was all done by remote access and closed circuit tv.

The pics were black and white but you could see everything a clear as a bell.

I am definately no vic traildust or ob1 or butch but is it possible you could have sucked air in when you found the leak where it was brazed? Just asking? I dont know much about hydraulics but just asking? handy

Butch please forgive me, but I can't get this image out of my head when it's time for the X-ray

It is funny that you posted a picture of Forrest hot footing it....

I told my crew if I ever heard "oh-oh" or "oops" on the com from within the containment structure after a munition is popped:(.... I am going to scope out :rolleyes:the wind sock and the next thing they will see is my tail lights heading upwind at warp speed:eek:

I am not waiting around for an alarm to confirm a containment breach...
