Hello all. Have frequented this site for 6+ months before purchasing my new L4600D two weeks ago. Love the tractor. Went back to dealer this weekend to get rear remote installed and he was giving me the update from the dealer meeting last week. new 2014' in the spring will be fully Tier IV compliant, marketing materials are all about increased efficiency, HP, emissions, etc but say nothing about increase in price. Said I did great buying one of his last 4600's....price on next years 4701 will go up between $2,800-3,400. New engines also have muffle/regen system that has to be replaced at a cost of around $2,500. Said no dealers are trading their 3200/3800/4600 tractors as they are now a prime commodity both on price and for people who dont want a tractor with increasing government emission controls.
Again thanks to all for all the excellent buying advice and info on what the L4600 tractors can do. Will post more about the gear drive transmission vs HST but I know that is just like a Ford v Chevy argument. But I love the gear drive so far.
Here is a canadian Kubota link to specs on new tractors. I think the MX series are going to have the same changes. if you are thinking of buying one, I would find 2013 model now.
