What are the two light brown dots on the end of the slip ring assembly in the second picture? Can't help but wonder if the slip rings are not an assembly that screws on the shaft, and if those two light brown dots might not be debris filled hole to be used with a pin spanner wrench...or wench if Hagrid is present. :ROFLMAO:

I taped the slip rings (thanks AI!) and pulled the bearing off over the slip rings once I borrowed a small enough puller. Have to go to work; more pics later.

The rotor pressed out of the rear housing easily and the bearing remained on the shaft.

Appreciate the interest; y'all rule!

Here is a picture of the rotor/bearings. I put the bearing retainer back on the taped slip rings to show that the slip ring od is smaller than the shaft od:

Here's a pic of the alternator PN:

The required bearing sizes are 35x15x11 and 32x15x11. Still working on best sources; plenty of cheapies available but I'd rather not do this again...

No cheapies. Go for SKF, NSK etc., any reputable OEM supplier. They are still only 1/4 of the Kubota price.

Check the original bearing, the manufacturer is normally engraved on the outer ring or maybe on the cover disks. And get the standard bearing number (6xxx). This should give you more search results.

Lol sorry for the confusion- yeah the tnuts hold that sheet of uhmw to the bench top. It's better conceptually than functionally, but I lazed out and just fastened it down quickly to less than ideal result. I'll get more pics when I put the alternator back together again; the management of the windings as they pass through the housing and their connections to the rectifier are interesting. Mebbe common, I dunno.
