And in November I'll cover the fronts with tarps for the winter. Three sheds, four cords. The top rows certainly gives a challenge to shoulders that have been operated on. This won't get burned for several yrs. Glad that's done.

Took the loader off. I'd say it was off in less than 90 seconds. Much easier than the LX3310 with it's hydraulic lines between the hood amd loader frame. Did some mowing and it was far smoother without the loader.

I'm really impressed with how tight the L can turn. Actually everything has impressed me so far.

Last time mowing the pasture for the season.

20250823_122747.jpg

Since I had to move this old disc to mow, I thought I would drag it around the track to get rid of some grass. A tiller is high on my want list.
20250823_142552.jpg

I then went back to using my box blade with the scarifiers all the way down, just grazing the surface.

Changed oil today at 1603 hours. Last time was June of 2024 (about 150 hours ago). I often don't go the full number of hours on maintenance items. It may cost a few extra bucks, but it makes me feel better. It had been getting dusty, then I did some mowing in the rain. The spots all over the paint and glass bugged me so it had a good bath and window cleaning.

I took the time this evening for maintenance.
791 hours
Drained the hydraulic fluid.
Changed the transmission and hydraulic suction filters.
Put 4 gallons of fresh Super UDT2 hydraulic fluid in.
Drained the engine oil and refilled with 5w40 Rotella.
Replaced the oil filter.
And replaced the fuel filter.

I'm the same way.

Usually once a year for me. It would take a few years to hit the recommended interval anyway. It's just too quick and easy to freshin the oil up, especially when considering the price of these machines.

I've always loved the photos of your tractor. Such a nice looking machine. What year is it?

Thank you. The condition is great for its age. Based on S/N info, I believe it was made in 2007. Bought it used at the end of 2018 with 977 hours on it (1603 as of today). It's kept inside, maintained well and waxed at least once a year. If you zoom in on the picture above, you can see the paper sticker is still on the rear rim at the valve stem:)

Whatever I did to anger the tractor gods must have been pretty good because their wrath is ongoing--about the same as the autocorrect damon that spells stuff wrong when I hit the Post Reply button...though the damage from the tread on those lawn tires isn't going to be fixable with backspace.

Since Summit Hydraulics hadn't returned my emails regarding the wrong Top & Tilt parts I called them; they basically said the BX "kit" is more of a generic set of parts that gets close to fitting the BX, that's what they mean by "kit." Now had they put that on their website I'd have not waited on them to ship a "kit" for more than a year and instead cherry picked the parts they stocked that I needed and fabbed up my own side link with a better choice of cylinder for my setup, but that's not the case, and I didn't want to learn hydraulics, hence buying a "kit" for the BX...

...If you can't tell I'm disappointed because the lead on this project (me) doesn't know what he's doing: everything I know about hydraulics I learned here--which I'm thankful for, but at this point it's like going to a rock concert and then being expected to play guitar--watching someone play doesn't make you good at playing. This is not something I expected nor wanted to learn. Let the mistakes begin...

First things first, mount the hydraulic top link to the tractor. Simple enough, but I can't get it to go. At least Summit let me know what to expect and my attitude was now adjusted to think of this as if I sourced my own parts.
20250824_032817.jpg
Width of the 3-point top link bracket: 43mm

20250824_032855.jpg
Width of the Kubota top link bushing: 40mm

20250824_032944.jpg
Width of the Summit hydraulic top link bushing: 44mm

Even if I convert that to inches it's not going to fit. Time to void some Warranty and break out the parts shrinker.

1/100" clearance and square/parallel within 0.004" using a redneck hand lathe...good enough for government work.

Let's hope the pin fits... :censored:

Paint quality is "a bit iffy," but the "now smaller" top link fits, coat it in grease and call it good...on to the side link.

Yeah, the ring isn't going in that hole.

Standard pin length: 2"
Needed: 2-1/8"
Where can I get a 5/8" diameter 2-1/8" or 2-1/4" long single-hole clevis pin??? Our local tractor place shifted to impliment fabrication so I'm out of luck locally.

If you have a decent local hardware store, get a 5/8” grade 5 bolt long enough the unthreaded part is at least 2 1/8”. Cut it to length you need and cross drill it for the clip.

Haven't done much on or to the Kubota's, but just went to dealer and ordered a Bauma Light TX12 PTO generator for them. Might get one of their stump grinders too.

Trying out the lift capacity of the loader with the heavy hitch and about 700lbs of weight. Rear tires are loaded. Still feels a bit light. Anyone running rear wheel weights on a grand L?

My MX likes the 990lb tiller on the 3 point when moving water totes. It will do it with the 700ish lb box blade, but feels tippy. I also have 3 sets of wheel weights.

I have a FDR2584 that's weighs 800lbs but it takes up a lot of real estate. I'm trying to keep a smaller footprint because I'll eventually be unloading trucks and putting the skids in a building.
