What does your owner's manual say? I sure it recommends diesel rated oils , API ratings like CK4, etccan I use regular 10-30 oil in a B5100e or must it be diesel spec only?
So one wpupd think but I could find no metion of API service class in the copy I downloaded from Kubotabooks. Just says SAE 10W30.What does your owner's manual say? I sure it recommends diesel rated oils , API ratings like CK4, etc
There are plenty of dual rated oils targeting over the road diesel engines in cars and light trucks.. API rules say the C rating should be listed first if the oil is formulated for diesel and also passes gasoline engine requirements. If the oil is formulated for gasoline engines but also passes diesel requirements the "S" category is listed first. When I first got my B7200 in the 1980's I used regular automotive oil for the first couple of oil changes as it was also good for "light diesel engines". Not sure if that is the case now or even if a Kubota engine could be called "light". Have consistently used proper diesel oil since then.
If it were my system, I'd change it for you. But then someone would come along and want to change the "G" to "P" for Petrol? I suppose the key word is "ignition"would be easier if 'G' meant gas, 'D' for diesel
have never seen a 'spark' engine run without compression![]()
