What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I was looking at getting a zero-turn until finding out how fun they are on steep hills...which is to say if the rear wheels lose traction the front aren't going to stay put. I have big rock outcroppings and smashing into one of those is going to damage something.

How NOT to mow, trying to hold the mower on the hillside.

Already done the maximum height on the hillside, but daughter-in-law wanted to video. So I’m on my way in just a little bit higher.

I aways found it better to lean to the uphill side, but not in areas like that. Handheld power Scythe also known as weed Wacker, but a lot more power and bigger.

I couldn't go back to a rider I don't think. The zero turns are so much faster and feels more stable too. I mow mine and my neighbors mow-able areas which equal to around 6 acres or so in only a couple hours. The Zero turn was a great investment no doubt.

I'd love a bigger deck though. Mine is just a 50 inch but I'd love a 60 inch. Just won't fit in the shed

That just means you need a bigger shed

That is true, but zt's have a lower center of gravity, which is great for hills.

That wide stance is exactly what you want on hills.

Watched some tractor videos today from folks who have other brands and one thing I noticed was how many mentioned "the Kubota people". I didn't know the tractor ownership was so hostile.

I like all tractors the same personally.

I watched a guy in Europe review an Iseki compact tractor...apparently it's the most the affordable tractor over there and I was impressed by that machine but I realized...I could be wrong but the Massey's are pretty much the US version of Iseki tractors..they even look the same...just red.

Don't mind me, I'm just bored.

Yesterday I swapped stuff around to get the L4240 ready to mow. It was wearing forks because of the recent need to handle tree removals. Used the forks to get the RFM off the shelf in the shed, then to get the bucket out. Dropped the forks and picked up the plow and put it on the shelf in the shed. Picked up the bucket and went to the shed and dropped the loader. Back out into the yard and connected the RFM.

All this took less than 10 minutes and only had to get out of the cab to drop the loader and connect the RFM because of the linear actuator install for the QA latches a while back.

It’s the same as the Chevy, Ford, Dodge debate. Everyone wants to think they bought the best machine.
I went Kubota based mostly on my relationship with my dealer I deal with through work.

What % of tint do you have? I'm getting mine done but can't go too dark because I blow a lot of snow at night.

I went with 5% on the sides and back, then 20% on the windshield and front lower quarters.

I cut all summer in the 110+ mississippi heat and man does it make a world of difference.

Also makes her look good to.....even with a dented hood lol.

The Massy GC2300 was just a rebadged/painted Iseki tractor. The GC2400, which I have is more Massey, it still has the Iseki engine. The difference being, I believe Agco/Massy bought Iseki. Mine has been a good rig, but after close to 20 years only has 160 hrs.

I did it myself.

It was terrible.

It took all day.

And whats bad is, I've tinted every vehicle that me and my wife have owned since we were teenagers. I aint no rookie lol.

Some of the glass was just way too curved. Then the quality of tint was not the best. And this make a big difference. I did end up taking the doors, quarters, and rear glass out so I could fight it in the comfort of my air conditioned basement.

Usually trimming prior to installing takes the longest....atleast for me. So when I had stumbled upon this:

I figured my time would be cut in half. And I reckon it mostly was but It was not fun.

The local mobile tint guys DO NOT enjoy tinting tractors. I was quoted $800-$1k. Which given what ONE roll of QUALITY tint costs (which would barely cover even ONE door) plus labor seems to be mostly in line in hindsight.

I understand the functional benefits of tinting the glass, but I just don't like the look. I would be interested in those screen kits that attach to the glass via suction cups, particularly for the MX in the hottest months. No doubt I would need to find a generic kit since it's unlikely that they're made for tractors.

The MX could use some help in the hottest months, which in part is due to HVAC ducting being directly under the cap. I really need to pull the cap off the cab and insulate it the way others have done here which would most likely make a significant difference. The M on the other hand will freeze me out of the cab, even on the hottest of days. All of the HVAC ducting is under and in the dash, so away from a major heat source when the sun is beating down on the cab.

Even a light percentage of a high-quality UV tint would help. If you don't want to go 5%, even 50% would help significantly and wouldn't be pitch black from the outside.

For sure. It actually sank twice. Once right when it happened, and then again that next morning after waking up and remembering what I had done.....TO MY BRAND FRICKIN NEW TRACTOR!!! lol.

Seems like you may need a 2nd tractor!
