Storm clean up. Took 3 leaning pines down. 2 of them were tangled up together. The third one I managed to get tangled. Lol! Once felled, I skidded em out with the Kubota.
I learned a new technique today. When cutting leaning trees that are tangled, Use the top of the chain saw bar to cut upwards perpendicular to the ground. The bar won't get pinched and once you cut through, the remaining tree slides right off of it. Violent, but it worked perfectly.

I imagine foot placement is very important with that technique. And steel-toe boots.

Wacked a few trees for the neighbor today. Fell on my same hip again on the ice. Then proceeded to make mud. Called it quits then.

Anyway, it was a great day to be outside. I'll take it.

I think someone might have been buried beneath that tree in the first photo. I'm really hoping that you slipped on the ice while you were chasing down some guy whose name rhymes with snow stiff, and now, although a little tattered and battered, he's resting peacefully next to a corn field. I've probably been watching too much Reacher.

Looked on firewood today. Found a Hickory that had blown down that had some good wood in it and dropped a dead Ash and Post oak. The third picture is a little out of focus. That is Dibbley watching over the logs so no one walks off with them.

I like your hood ornament!
Reminds me of like the old Brockway Husky. As a kid in the 60's I lived a block away where they were made in Cortland NY.

Good tip, but don't cut all the way through in one direction (if that makes sense).

Learned that when I was cutting 4-foot Norway Spruce pulpwood.

NS doesn't self-prune it's lower limbs at all. Would have limbs all the way to the ground. Have to scrape them off with the saw just to get to the stump.

They would hang up all the time.

I'd "walk" them down 4 feet at a time. Some were only 6-8", others were 18-24".

I used to reach over them with the saw pointing at the ground. Cut towards myself 80-90% of the way through before any pinches.

Then just "clip" the remaining part on my side, and it'd fall 4 feet, then rinse and repeat..... ;)

I finally had enough snow at the cabin to need the blower @Speed25 sent in that awesome crate of stuff. It's not "Level @nerwin" snow but I'm happy.

After getting the truck stuck at the drive entrance I took a hike and used the BX23 tractor with BX2763 blade to clear 8" of heavy, icy snow in front of the storage container so I could get the BX turned around, remove the blade, and mount the blower. Two-wheel drive was enough, didn't need diff-lock or 4WD.

The blower cut through the piles without issue, including at the entrance where the County plow truck had done their normal job of depositing everything on their blade in order to wall off the drive from humanity (so it seems, anyway). Cleaned the drive, dug out the truck, and was left impressed at how easy the Kubota made the job.

That is essentially what I did. Cut "up" until there was an inch left. Then flip the saw and cut down through the inch. Slides off like salami on a slicer.

Is Dibbley staying there as well when the engine is running?
No. He use to not be scared of the tractor, but one day he was sitting on the seat staying warm when I got on the tractor to use it. He jumped down but didn't move away from the tractor. I thought I had seen him walk around the corner, but he was by the right rear tire. I got his tail with the tire and heard him give out a cry. I shut the tractor off and went looking for him. I thought that I had really hurt him. When I fouind him I check his legs and paws, but since the ground was really soft, it didn't hurt him any. But when ever the tractor starts, he takes off.

Just want to echo @g_man and say great video. Blowing tons of snow like that is the bee's knees, and as you say, Kubota and Land Pride make it about as easy and as enjoyable as could be. Reminds me of the BX25 that I used for five years to clear snow. I have to get this in here, but it's even more enjoyable from within the comfort a cab. 😂

Brought the box blade to work with hopes of welding a receiver to the backside for trailers and such. Couldn’t find a suitable way without mass fabrication, abandoned that idea. Since it was here decided to weld up a quick basket for chains and the like. Pretty happy with it. Rattle can skills could use some help, but who is gonna see it? Other than the internet of course!

And yes, I painted the dirt.
I don't have a picture of the other side, but it is a cheap 1 1/2" x 2" adapter from harbor freight, cut a square out of the box and stuck it through and welded it in. Quick, easy, cheap, and works well.

My sawmilling customer is still bringing logs to my sawmill with his L4701. We will finish sawing these Tulip Poplar logs tomorrow and move on to the Cypress. Two more days and I should finish this job.

Cleaned up more nuisance snow around the yard again. Supposedly we're going to get rain tomorrow or Wednesday to make another mess and then back to snow,
