300 gallon overhead tank. Gravity flow. About as simple and as easy as you can get.

The local farm bureau COOP provides me with a free 300 gallon tank and 120V pump and delivers refills of bulk off-road diesel (red dye, no tax) whenever I call. Cheap and super easy for me.

What pump is that you are using skeets? would like to make something like that, I have the tank and cart.

Bill
It is a 12 volt DC fuel transfer pump from HF, I think it was around 60 bucks when I bought it, one thing, it pumps fast I dont know what the flow rate is but it dont take long to fill a tank ! :)

I built a fuel trailer with a nominal 105 gallon diesel tank (nominal!) and a 50 gallon gas tank on a HF trailer:

Biggest mistake: Installing a 125 vac Filrite pump on the diesel tank instead of a 12 vdc pump.
I thought these tanks are only for combustible liquids and not flammable. I looked into setting our mowing trucks up with a similar setup since we moved from diesel mowers to gas. Caught some pushback from the higher ups, we’ve been using 5 gal cans.

I looked at them today they have gone up to about $140. I think I will wait for a sale and grab one.
I have a lot of arthritis in my hands so I am looking for a way to eliminate lifting the cans up high.
Just had an arthroplasty on my left thumb on the 13th so I won't be doing anything with this for a while.
Thanks for the info Skeets!

My personal setup. 50gal and hand pump. Homebrew sight gauge.
What did you use on the tank for the fittings for the sight gauge. I have a meter on mine and a spreadsheet that I keep track of how much I put in and take out. I also use the spreadsheet to tell me how much weight is in the tank so I can figure how much fuel I can add when I take it to the station to "fill" it. The L3901DT won't pick it up if I fill it.

Weld in bungs. 3/4” or 1/2” for the drain and 1/4” for the gauge. Found them online. Www.Bungking.com

I am set up similar to @Orange1forme. Six 5-gallon Mid-west plastic cans from Tractor supply and a battery operated fuel transfer pump. All Fit in My Truck for a fuel run.

I am not a typical Ag Farmer. I am our Family's land manager/Tree farmer. I mainly maintain what is there like fire lanes and roads. Occasionally, I build/repair a fence, move a log to my sawmill or create a new fire lane/road. I am not a huge fuel user over a 2–4-day tree-farm work event.

Tractors In order of importance:

- 2024 Kubota 2601with loader and 3rd function
- 2006 ~65 hp 4WD John Deere with loader
- 1988 ~65 hp Ford 5900

Kind Regards,
Dan
