What kind of fuel cans / fueling systems are folks using?

It seems between the tractor, skid steer, backhoe and compactor that I am always running out of fuel. Granted I am doing the grading work to build a barn which will come to an end but I still think I want a better solution than 5-gal cans.

I see where flo fast has some 10gal and larger jugs but wonder if I really want to lug that up to the tractor top.

it may be that a pump system is warranted but that means something else to maintain.

want are folks on this forum using for the fueling storage and transfer?

neighbour has 100g tank next to barn, gravity fed,been there 60-70 years so far, seems to work,even when power fails.....
I use 3, 10L plastic cans, 24hr gas station's just 10 minutes away and my needs aren't 'critical though.
maybe consider a 45 gallon drum, 12volt powered pump ?

I used No spill brand 5 gallon fuel cans for years before going with a transfer tank and pump.
With that much equipment no way I’d be looking at cans.

I don't know the brand, but I use 5 gallon tall narrow cans that have a long tube and none of the EPA addons. I've thought about storing more, but I just don't use that much fuel per year.

I use 106 gallon and 58 gallon JohnDow Industries fuel tanks with hoses, nozzles, Italian made pumps and quality hardware. Given the cost of diesel and how much I use a year in two tractors, two trucks and a generator, the cost of these systems pales in comparison and they're a joy to own and use.

100 gallon tank on a home-made skid with 12 pump and meter. Have a Anderson SB-50 connector on the tractor to plug the pump into. Load it in the back of the pickup and take it to fill it up.

I use the VP racing jug over here in the UK, for us they aren’t “For Road Use” or whatever it is they class it as here so the pump stations can deny you filling them up which happened to me once. What I tend to do is use a proper jerry can then decant it in to the race jug.

At work I just use the race jug filling it straight from the fuel tank.

For years it was a bunch of yellow 5 gallon cans. Got tired of lifting and spilling as the tractors got taller. A couple years ago I went with three 55 gallon plastic drums. That allows me to get fuel cheaper (offroad and more than 100 gallon delivery). There's a 12V pump I plug into a tail on the tractors & generator to power it.

Have gone from bulk fuel, 5gallon cans, to bulk fuel. Recently set up a 116gallon Vevor tank pump, filter to run from 12v battery or DeWalt battery. So far like it the best. Easier to treat bulk fuel with additives, dispense without spilling or lifting and extra filtration both particulate and water.

How do you transport and move those things? A drum seems like it would be top heavy in the truck and difficult to lift and carry.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I've had the 106 gallon tank for three or four years and never had an issue with it. I bought the 58 gallon tank last year and noticed that I had to loosen the fill cap to get fuel to flow at the advertised rate. I might have overfilled the tank to be honest, but I'm not sure.

I sent an email to JohnDow Industries explaining the situation and asked if there was an adjustment that I could make to the cap. I received a reply the same day asking me for my mailing address. In less than a week they had shipped me a replacement cap at no cost and they didn't want the original one back. JohnDow is pricey stuff, but they are a US company specializing in professional grade automotive equipment, and their customer service is excellent.

Biggest mistake: Installing a 125 vac Filrite pump on the diesel tank instead of a 12 vdc pump.
