FedEx lost a valuable and large package of mine, which contained a piece of sheet metal for an antique car. After a lengthy discussion with a senior vice president at FedEx, the package was eventually located. I was told it would be delivered on a specific day, but it did not arrive. I emailed the VP, and he subsequently called the terminal where my package was supposed to be delivered. He spoke with the terminal manager about the situation. When the driver returned, they began to question him about why the package was marked as delivered when it wasn't received. Under pressure, he finally admitted that he had been throwing packages in a ditch. Later that night, around 11 PM, the terminal manager personally delivered my package to me. When I asked him where it had been, he simply replied, "Be happy you got your package, and don’t ask questions." I later learned from my UPS driver—who was friendly with the FedEx drivers—about what had happened.
